Tell us how you met and all about the proposal
We met in Houston, Texas. We were both leaving a bar in Midtown and added one another on snap chat. Then, he gave me his number and I saved it as Jeremy 2% because he said “My name is Jeremy, and there’s only 2% out there like me” I laughed, and then we went our separate ways. We didn’t finally contact each other until 6 months later, and from there the rest was history.
The Proposal
The proposal was held at Neyows Creole Cafe in Houston, where Jeremy gathered all of our friends and family for a surprise engagement party. I was told we were going there for my cousin’s graduation party. When I walked into the room I was prompted to sit in front of this tv, where they played a video of Jeremy telling our journey to that very moment, when he walked in he got on one knee. There were over 100 people in the room to celebrate our engagement with us! It was a night I will never forget! Besides the after-party, I was too lit to remember that. Thank God my ring stayed on my finger and we made it home safely thanks to our friends lol.
Describe your engagement session
The engagement session was great! We aren’t that couple that takes a million pictures a day and we’re a little camera shy. Thanks to our photographer, wedding planner, and videographer, everything was a lot less awkward for us! We did not have a theme in mind but we wanted a nice clean, classy look.
What did you do on your first date?
We met at a restaurant called Grand Lux in the Houston Galleria area and pretty much talked until the restaurant closed.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
We love to go out to eat and for Sunday Fundays. We enjoy little weekend getaways, but mostly, we enjoy doing absolutely nothing at times.
How has wedding planning been so far?
Honestly, wedding planning is really stressful. I feel like we’ve been planning forever because we got engaged in December 2019, and then the pandemic came and it slowed everything down. Now the wedding is five months away and I feel like it’s crunch time.
What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?
We look forward to just having an overall amazing wedding day! We want our wedding to be a PARTY, we don’t want anyone leaving sober since it’s an adult-only reception!
