Haitian and Nigerian cultures collide in this beautiful two-part multicultural wedding celebration with a stunning dress and Igbo attire.
Frandeline and Israel Mbidom first met online in March 2020 during the Pandemic on Facebook. On the third day of getting to know each other, Israel admitted “he was falling in love with [her] and that [she] would be his future wife.” At first, Franny didn’t believe him, but little did she know, he was actually right!
After finally meeting in person in June of 2020, they quickly became official – and the rest is history! The couple tied-the-knot in a two-part wedding celebration, including a white wedding and traditional Nigerian (Igbo) wedding, to honor their Nigerian and Haitian roots.

Wedding dress & favorite accessory…
Franny admits her wedding dress “was perfect for [her].” The gown was also extra special because her mother actually chose it for her.
“My favorite wedding accessory was my head piece,” she adds. “It was a great choice for my dress.”

How they met & their proposal story…
Like many people looking to find love during the pandemic, Franny and Israel found love online. But their story isn’t as predictable as you might think. It didn’t start with a flirtatious comment or matching on a dating app. It actually started on Facebook.
Frandeline explains, “We [actually] met via Facebook which was pretty interesting. One day I decided to comment under a clip of my favorite show called “Sistas” on Facebook…” and that “was the day I would meet my future husband.”
From their initial online meeting, the pair started off long distance with Franny living in a small city in Florida called Lehigh Acres and Israel living in Richardson Texas. With the pandemic and their physical distance keeping them apart, they didn’t meet in person until June of 2020. Until then, “FaceTime was [their] favorite.”
Franny recalls, “On the third day of us getting to know each other, Israel instantly told me that he was falling in love with me and that I would be his future wife. I didn’t believe it at first, but little did I know, he was telling the truth. To prove it, he took a trip to Florida to come and meet my family members. We became the best of friends and within three weeks we made it official.”
Ever since, they’ve traveled back and forth every month to see each other.
“Covid has brought us closer than ever, even though we are thousands of miles away. It also helped us connect in so many ways as a couple.”

Their wedding style…
Their wedding style was a two-part wedding celebration that consisted of traditional and modern elements.
“We had a white wedding [and] then we transitioned to a traditional Nigerian (Igbo) wedding. We [also] change into two different attires.”
Favorite memory from their wedding…
Franny’s favorite memory was their first dance!
“As I’m looking through our videos and pictures, I couldn’t stop smiling in all of them. Also, we played both a Nigerian and Haitian song for our first dance.”
Cultural elements…
They incorporated Haitian and Nigerian (Igbo) culture into their wedding.
Best wedding advice for other engaged couples…
Their best advice for other engaged couples is to “go through the journey together.”
Working closely along side their wedding planner, Franny says, “What made our wedding so magical is the fact that we both made decisions on what we wanted.”
She adds, “We did not leave each other out and we were on the same page with everything.”
Also, “HAVE FUN AND ENJOY The Moment!”
Extra details…
Their wedding day was extra special because they were able to “bring two cultures together.”
“To see our family and friends come together as one to celebrate our union means so much to us. We are thankful for them all.”
