Modern Italian Inspired Wedding Was A Beautiful Ode To Il Bel Paese

What happens when you visit what Italians refer to as Il Bel Paese (The Beautiful Country)? You get the most gorgeous modern Italian wedding inspired by the city of Naples with its deep oranges and olives, historic palaces and Amalfi Coast.

The inspiration for Winson & Christie’s wedding day came from the duo’s visit to Napoli and they immediately fell in love with the city. While celebrating the European destination with their nuptials in Florida, the couple also made sure to shout out their own Haitian heritage with an amazing showcase during their reception, which featured flags, fun and fireworks.

Having their wedding day outdoors at Bella Collina was absolutely the best way to have a destination wedding without ever having to cross the Atlantic. The rolling hills, Italian Cyprus trees, and Tuscan inspired Grand Bella Collina Clubhouse transported their guests to the country that captured Winson and Christie’s heart.

How they met…

We met at a family friends house get together.

The proposal…

The proposal happened in New York City in 2019 on a rooftop with city views. It was a very intimate moment where a few family and friends were invited. NYC was our first trip we took together and forever remains a memorable trip.

Our wedding theme was a night in Italy. My wife and I love traveling and after visiting Italy we fell in love. Our venue embraced Naples, Italy and was perfect for our wedding. My wife and I chose copper orange for the bridesmaid’s dresses and olive green for the groomsmen’s suits.

The ceremony…

Wedding style & shopping experience…

The experience was positive yet stressful, it also allowed us to showcase our creativity on what we envisioned our wedding to be. Wedding attire for groom was an off-white color suit with floral design with green lapel. The bride’s dress was also an off-white colored floral laced with removable train.

Favorite wedding day memories…

The best memory would be the first time seeing each other in our wedding attire. When we look back at our wedding pictures, seeing each other from opposite side of the aisle, no one can take the love and happiness we felt.

The reception…

Cultural Vibes…

Culture that was incorporated was Haitian representation of the flag and music. We are both Haitian American born from immigrant families. So, it was important to showcase our roots.
