Darius and Richelle’s outdoor garden wedding and reception definitely had us taking notes with its stylish mix of beautiful botanicals and ultra-modern glam.
With eye-popping gold accents, gorgeous greenery, and delicate florals taking center stage, Richelle and Darius’ I Do’s were certainly meant to convey the lively springtime feel of Miami. The creative genius of floral designer Angel Rodriguez of Rodri Studio gave the couple memories of a lifetime with designer florals that delicately captured the beauty of their neutral wedding color story.
In keeping with their modern yet elegant theme of the day, the bride and groom’s style complimented each other with designer Eze Azenabor’s 2-in-1 custom couture vision for Richelle embracing her flawless curves and a 10-foot train which echoed the glamour of Miami. Darius’ tailored suiting by celebrity designer, Miguel Wilson, complimented the neutral theme of the celebration. The look gave us more modern elegance for the cool modern groom by mixing luxe suiting with dapper tennis shoes.

How they met…
Darius and I met in 10th grade at the bus stop. We attended the same high school, rode the same school bus, and we lived around the corner from each other. One day while getting off the bus, I asked Darius if I could use his cell phone to call my father because I did not want to walk home. After that encounter, we became the best of friends and even attended prom together. Once I returned home after graduating from college, we decided to take our friendship to another level.
The proposal…
Our proposal occurred after a celebration I threw for my mother. My father and my brother were in on the proposal. The original plan of my proposal was supposed to be on Dec 5, 2020, but on October 1, 2020, I was in a bad car accident. It really scared both of us!
My mother’s event was on October 18, 2020, and Darius knew all our family and friends would be there. Darius is a shy person and rarely stands up to speak in a crowd. He stood up to congratulate my mom and thank her for everything … then called me up and began to express his love for me, and the rest is history!
Wedding style…
Being a plus-size woman, I wanted my experience to be comfortable! I did not want to feel out of place because of my size! Also, I wanted a black wedding dress designer.
So, after searching on Instagram, I came across Ese’ Azenabor! I loved how she catered to plus-size women, and when I went for my consultation, she was so welcoming! Once she saw these curves, she started to design a custom 2-in-1 dress for me, and I fell in love just with the fabric and a drawing.
For my husband, our wedding planner, KeAira, gave us a list of suit designers. After researching, we decided to go with Miguel Wilson. My husband liked that Miguel’s motto is “Because it’s his day too.” Even at the consultation, he made me step outside, and my husband was able to privately create his attire.
Memories…
What is your best memory from your wedding? We really wanted our wedding to be an experience! Even though it’s supposed to be about my husband and me, we wanted our family to enjoy, celebrate, and experience our wedding the same way we did. To see our family and friends enjoy everything and party and celebrate the whole night with us was everything! They are still talking about our wedding!

Advice…
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? Watch the company you keep around you! Certain people can be very draining, and try to steal the attention surrounding you. This is your moment, and you have every right to be selfish when it is what you want for your wedding!
