Featured in MunaLuchi Bridal Magazine, Issue No. 26, this bohemian micro wedding on the Bayou showcases subtle glam with natural florals, neutral hues, and wooden accents.
Bianca & Wilbert’s bohemian wedding was an intimate affair set along the Bayou, Slidell in Louisiana. After their original wedding plans in Mexico were delayed because of the pandemic, they decided a smaller traditional wedding was a perfect solution.
On Wednesday, April 21, 2021, they tied the knot surrounded by 75 of their closest friends and family. The date was especially significant for them as it was Wilbert’s birthday and also the anniversary of his favorite artist, Prince’s death. A highlight for the bride herself was gifting her husband with a surprise visit to Paisley Park, a unique museum dedicated to Prince’s life.
Inspired by rustic bohemian flare, their wedding decor included neutral colors, wooden accents, and romantic florals. They even asked their guests to wear shades of neutral tones. The pair also paid tribute to their New Orleanian roots with some of Louisiana’s world-famous cuisines on their wedding menu and a “second line” brass band to end their reception. They couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day!

Their first look…
How they met & the proposal…
The couple was introduced by a mutual friend several years ago. They reconnected and began dating. The proposal happened at the couple’s favorite restaurant in New Orleans named Meril. It was a surprise proposal and Wilbert collaborated with the restaurant’s staff to pull it off. I was totally surprised.
How they knew they were “the one”…
No matter what was going on in our lives we always found ourselves back with each other. It has always been a natural and mutual love.
Here comes the bride…
Cultural elements…
We had a traditional wedding but just on a smaller scale. As Native New Orleanians, we had to have some of our world-famous cuisines on our wedding menu as well as have a “second line” brass band to end our reception.
Wedding style…
I would describe our wedding style as a bohemian and rustic theme.
The cake…
Shopping experience…
Shopping for a dress was very unique because we were in the middle of a pandemic as well as the Black Lives Matter movement. I tried on the Reno gown at Unbridaled bridal boutique in New Orleans and I immediately loved it. While I searched at other boutiques around the country, I could never find another dress that impressed me like that one did. I ultimately purchased the Reno gown six months later after my original encounter with it.
Wedding dress & favorite accessory…
I wore the “Reno” dress by Rue De Seine, which was the first and only dress I tried on. My favorite wedding accessory was my veil which was surprising because initially, I didn’t want one. Wilbert wore a tuxedo by Ralph Lauren and shoes and accessories by Ferrogamo.
Best wedding day memory…
My best memory from the wedding is surprising my husband with his wedding/birthday gift to visit Paisley Park because he is an uber Prince fan.
Wedding advice for engaged couples…
Do what’s best for you. Everyone will have input and an opinion, hear them but don’t listen to them.
