The Bracy’s Old Hollywood-themed wedding was perfectly planned by the bride herself with fun nods to Tinseltown.
The couple first met on social media, but sealed their love story with a little help from Santa and some matching Christmas pajamas! With pops of red, black, white and gold featured prominently in their wedding color story, the colors added bold drama to what would be an unforgettable introduction to the day’s leading lady and her beautiful entourage of bridesmaids in their scene stealing scarlet gowns.
Abasi and his groomsmen also were stylishly debonair in their traditional tuxedos that exquisitely complimented the bridal party. With guests experiencing the celebration of Trinidadian and Guyanese cultures along with the duo’s creative cinematic flair their wedding day was action packed with memories captured by Lifetyme Photo and Video.

Bridal besties…
How they met…
They met on Tinder in the summer of 2015. Unique was going into her sophomore year of college and Abasi had just graduated.
Their proposal story…
Abasi proposed to Unique on Christmas 2020. Unique has a tradition she has done with her family since she was young where you get to open the gift in your stocking at 12am Christmas Day. You save the rest of the gifts for when you actually wake up in the morning after Christmas breakfast. She carried this tradition over to her own home when her Abasi moved in together.
So just like a big kid at 12am on Christmas in her Christmas onesie pajamas she reached into her stocking to get her present and to her surprise it was a ring box and when she turned around there, he was down on one knee in his matching pajamas. Of course, because both of them are the two biggest jokers and can’t take anything serious, they laughed throughout the whole proposal. But in the end, she of course said yes!
Wedding day style…
The theme of the wedding was an old Hollywood movie premiere with a red, black, white, and gold color theme. Unique’s dress was a Tony Ward fit and flare lace dress with an illusion back and neckline from Kleinfield. The groom bought his outfit from Men’s Wearhouse. The bridesmaid’s dresses were off the shoulder fitted dresses from David’s bridal and the groomsmen rented Calvin Klein tuxes from Men’s Wearhouse.
Choosing her dress…
The wedding shopping experience for me was pretty easy. I only went to two bridal shops (Kleinfield and Seng Couture) before making a decision. I went to Kleinfield first and tried on a lot of dresses before finding two at the end that I really liked, however, wasn’t ready to commit since it was only my first time out shopping. So I went to Seng and nothing really compared to the ones I liked at Kleinfield, so I scheduled another appointment with Kleinfield. It came down to the same two dresses and I of course went against the grain and picked the one least liked by my family, but when you know you know.
Celebrating culture…
Unique is Trinidadian and Guyanese and wanted to incorporate that food into the wedding. During cocktail hour we had the venue make a Caribbean station that included oxtails, curry chicken, jerk chicken, etc.
Making memories…
The best memory from the wedding was probably when the DJ played Jerusulema and I tried doing the dance in my dress. My dress got caught under my sneakers (yes I changed into sneakers) and I fell in the middle of the dance floor and he rushed to try to help me up so people wouldn’t notice but the DJ literally announced it to everyone lol.
After the aisle…
I would say to start planning as earlier as possible and do not procrastinate. The more you procrastinate the more stressed you will be near the end. I would also recommend hiring (if not a full planner) at least a day of coordinator (like myself) to help the day run smoothly. And Lastly, remember that it is your day do not let any drama or the little inconveniences that might pop up ruin it for you.
