Featured in MunaLuchi Bridal Magazine, Issue No. 27, the Bella Collina venue in Central Florida sets the scene for a Tuscany-inspired blue & yellow wedding shoot.
As part of the Styled Shoots Across America Shoot Crawl Event on January 25, 2022, Heather Benge invited vendors from around the country to the beautiful Italian-inspired Bella Colina venue in Central Florida to create their own unique wedding scenes. With 10 different stations styled with separate color palettes, models, and decor, anything was possible!
Jennifer DeFilippis of Jennifer Nicole Photography & Films was overjoyed to bring this blue and yellow spring-inspired shoot to life. She shares, “This shoot definitely played to the Tuscany feel…. The top balcony made for the most stunning bridal portraits and reminded me of Romeo & Juliet.”
Inside, a reception table decorated with luscious florals lining its center, with food menus on each place setting, and velvet chairs added to the scene’s elegant display. For Jennifer, the highlight of the day was definitely the cakes! “We had a trio of cakes that coordinated so well together, each showing different techniques, sizes, and looks, yet complimented each other perfectly.”

Attire & decor…
This section was a blue and yellow palette with a couple, Melanie & Bryci and stunning details. Melanie wore a puffy sleeved gown with a long train from Eleanor’s Bridal. Bryci had a gray suit and blue tie from The Modern Groom. The bouquet was unique with a wooden ring around the perimeter of the florals. We did their portraits on the beautiful balcony of Bella Collina, which gives off some major Romeo & Juliet vibes!

Venue…
Bella Collina in itself is a magical place. Right in the heart of Central Florida, you’d never guess for a second you were in Florida. It gives me that Tuscany feel like you are on the streets of Italy… we’re lucky to have such a beautiful venue here!
The details…
Inside was a table set up, florals lined the center all the way down to the floor and menus on each place setting and velvet chairs. There was an escort display “Our Favorite People” with place cards and lined with florals.

The cakes…
The cake display was probably my favorite part of this station. A trio of cakes with all different techniques and styles, displayed on a gold dresser. And the best part? All the flowers on the cakes were handcrafted with sugar! Each cake unique with a different look but all complimented each other so well using the same blues and yellows throughout.
Bella Collina is a beautiful venue with inspiration everywhere you turn. The Italian-inspired architecture and gardens set the tone for gorgeous weddings. With a mood board such as the one provided, how could I not create more than one cake?! Each cake I created is uniquely created as its own work of art all while bringing together the florals and color palette of this stunning wedding. I was mainly inspired by the textures and bright floral colors for all of the cakes. The bright blue sugar Dahlia is a great contrast against the sugar Dave Austin Rose and other filler flowers. The hexagon bottom tier makes a statement of its own and draws your eyes up toward the cascade of florals. All in all, these cakes have a little bit of everything to bring together this beautiful wedding inspiration.”

The bride…
This shoot definitely played to the Tuscany feel, Melanie’s gown with the long beautiful train and the fluffiest sleeves was like a fairytale. Her natural makeup and updo allowed for this gown to shine to its highest potential. Not to mention show off the beautiful jewelry.
Bridal portraits…
The top balcony made for the most stunning bridal portraits and reminded me of Romeo & Juliet. We were able to get beautiful photos of both Melanie & Bryce, and you’d never even know it was actually pouring out. Bella Collina is known for its stonework exterior, but this balcony gave the florist the opportunity to create a more intimate spot with just as much beauty as the more popular parts of the venue.
The details…
The colors of blue and yellow went perfectly together as displayed on the reception table set up, florals, and cake display. We had a trio of cakes that coordinated so well together, each showing different techniques, sizes, and looks, yet complimented each other perfectly. Multiple cakes are becoming more and more popular as weddings are back to higher guest counts. It allows you to get creative with your cake design and variety of looks and flavors, but it also is practical in making sure everyone gets to experience the best part of the meal – dessert! The flowers on the cakes were actually sugar flowers which were gorgeous additions to the display, yet very fragile and romantic like to fit the vibe we were going for! Every detail on these three cakes was a true masterpiece!
