Dayana & Daniel’s royal red wedding in California boasts luscious red florals, adorable flower girls, a dash of Panamá culture, and a decadent black and gold cake.
When Dayana first met Daniel, she initially friend-zoned him. She admits, “He wasn’t my ‘type’.” Or so she thought. As time went on, they grew closer. Talking almost every day, going on “friend” dates, and creating new experiences together, she started to realize Daniel actually surpassed her vision of what she thought she wanted. He was everything she needed in a partner and more.
After a few months, they both introduced their daughters to each other. This step officially took them from the “friend zone” into an official relationship!
Both of our lives suddenly had a new happiness, something that neither of us had experienced before. Our life and family felt complete.”
– Dayana (The Bride)
Following a year of bliss, Daniel finally asked Dayana to be his wife. He popped the question in front of their loved ones on a yacht in LA on her 40th birthday – of course, she said yes!
Highlights from their royal red wedding include event planning and design execution by Signature Events by Christina Romero, breathtaking florals by Blooming Bouquet Events, and gorgeous photography by Temilola Ajibulu Photo.

The bride…
How they met…
We met through a mutual friend, Myesha. She set up their first “friend date”. Daniel was shy and I was just trying to put him in the “friend zone”, as he was not my “type”.
Their first date…
On our official first date, we had shaved ice from Rita’s and ate delicious tacos from the food trucks. Daniel spoiled me and treated me like a queen. We both had fun that night!
Unfortunately, when we went home, it was business as usual and back to the same daily work grind. Thankfully Daniel was persistent! He would send me good morning texts, good night texts, send music links from Youtube, and would even express his emotions and feelings.
Becoming an official couple…
As time went on, we spent most of our days talking on the phone and Face Timing. The more time, the more dates, the more talking, and the more shared experiences, the closer we got. A few months in, we both introduced our daughters to each other; which took us from the “friend zone” to an official relationship.
For the next year, we did all kinds of things together as a family. We spent weekends away in Napa, Arizona, Reno, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, went to the shooting range, and even rode Daniel’s Harley bike together. Both of our lives suddenly had a new happiness, something that neither of us had experienced before. Our life and family felt complete.
The proposal…
During that year, Daniel knew I was “the one”. Daniel spent about five months shopping for a ring and preparing for the proposal. After Daniel purchased the ring, he planned my 40th Birthday extravaganza and proposal with my best friend and Maid of Honor, Angelique Salim. Daniel proposed to me on my birthday in front of my loved ones on a yacht in LA.

Since my husband loves the video game Terraria like me, we started dating and it’s been almost 3 years now. I’m about to get married but I don’t have any ideas yet. This article is really meaningful and necessary to me.
