Jasmine and Loren traveled to Santorini, Greece for their intimate, luxurious destination wedding!
Jasmine and Loren first met in elementary school. They reconnected years later in 2017 through Facebook.
Loren organized a romantic surprise proposal and more for New Year’s Eve. Even after booking a hair and makeup appointment for Jasmine a month in advance, Jasmine had no suspicions that he might pop the question.
On NYE night, Loren arranged for a horse and carriage to pick them up and take them to their “event”. Jasmine was impressed but just thought Loren was being spontaneous. When they arrived at their destination, Loren went in first, and shortly after Jasmine was led into the building. When she entered, she was overjoyed to see Loren down on one knee with a sign and all her loved ones there to celebrate their love.
I started screaming in complete shock then I turned around and All my close family and friends were there to witness it, it was truly amazing!…But the surprises didn’t stop there…I was blindfolded and when I opened them he handed me keys to a brand new Mercedes.

How did you meet?
Elementary School then reconnected in 2017 via Facebook.
Tell us about the proposal.
It was a month or so leading up to the proposal and Loren told me for New Year’s Eve we would be going to a New Year’s Eve event and that he made appointments for my makeup and hair to get done because knowing me I would’ve waited to book at the very last minute. So, not thinking anything I said, “ok sounds good.”.
Fast forward to New Year’s Eve the day of the proposal, I met him at the hotel he had reserved for the evening after my hair and makeup appointments to get dressed for the night. Once dressed, we walked outside from the lobby and a horse and carriage were waiting on us to take us to this event. I immediately said “Oh wow this is beautiful what’s going on? This sounds like more than just a New Year’s event. Are we really going to pull up in this?”, but Loren is very spontaneous so I didn’t think too much of it so I went along with it.
We proceeded to this building via horse and carriage. He went in first and then while I was outside a woman came to bring me in. Once I walked in I saw him on his knee with the “Marry Me” LED lights in the back! I started screaming in complete shock then I turned around and all my close family and friends were there to witness it, it was truly amazing!
After the proposal we went upstairs where we had planned this amazing engagement dinner, it was laid out!! The food, drinks, the love of family and friends, and my new fiance was a night to remember. As the clock hit twelve, we toasted to the new year and new beginnings of our lives together… But the surprises didn’t stop there, Loren proceeded to have everyone come outside, I was blindfolded and when I opened them he handed me keys to a brand new Mercedes. I was in awwwwweee. The night couldn’t have gotten any better than that.
Wedding Style:
My dress style for the ceremony was a soft look while my reception gown was giving sexy and flirty. For Loren’s suit, he states his style was classic with a twist. Loren had engraved photos of us over the years inside his suit jacket which made for a very special moment.
What was the wedding shopping experience like for you?
While my mom and I were in Chicago on a travel contract (both of us nurses) we decided to go dress shopping out there and I found my ceremony dress within 3 dress try-ons in one appointment. I’m pretty simple, so if I see something I like I’m going to get it. I’m definitely not a bridezilla haha.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding?
I’d say we didn’t deliberately try to include any cultural aspects, however since being in Greece we were able to enjoy some cultural cuisines and historical facts of the island.
What is the best memory you have from your wedding?
The ceremony, when we finally said our I dos and walked down the aisle as husband and wife! The reception: when I say we had a time, Loren and I had a ball of fun just being around our close family and friends during our union. The intimacy of our wedding was more than we could ask for. Another favorite memory/moment would be our decor and setup as it was absolutely beautiful. Our wedding planner, venue manager, and vendors made the day very magical.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples?
Stay prayed up and surround yourself with people who are for you and your best interest. Also, know that day by day you continue to learn your partner and evolve together as one.
