Asha and Kedar made their love official at their dreamy tropical wedding at Trident Castle in Portland, Jamaica!
Asha and Kedar had no idea they were going to meet each other. They first met on a surprise double date, leading to a deeper connection than they could have imagined.
Following a beautiful courtship, Kedar orchestrated an intimate and romantic surprise proposal to Asha.
He guided me through a gallery of memories in the rustic charm of a wine cellar—each painting holding a piece of our shared journey, from laughter-filled moments to dreams woven together…
– Asha (the bride)
As they reached the end of the gallery, Kedar knelt on one knee and expressed his love for Asha before presenting her with a velvet box and ring. Asha was delighted and couldn’t help but wonder where her family was during this monumental moment. Kedar replied, “They’re waiting just outside, around the corner, ready to celebrate this moment with us.”

How did you meet?
We met on a surprise double date.
Tell us about the proposal.
Kedar orchestrated a proposal that was profoundly personal and intimate for us. He guided me through a gallery of memories in the rustic charm of a wine cellar—each painting holding a piece of our shared journey, from laughter-filled moments to dreams woven together. As we reached the end, Kedar knelt before me, a velvet box quivering in his hand. Tears of joy shimmered in his eyes as he bared his soul, recounting the milestones and love that had flourished between us. He unveiled the ring with trembling fingers, and amid my elation, I couldn’t help but wonder about my family. “Where are they?” I asked, to which Kedar replied, “They’re waiting just outside, around the corner, ready to celebrate this moment with us.”
Under the swaying palm trees of Jamaica, my wife and I exchanged vows in a tropical paradise surrounded by rhythmic reggae music and vibrant flowers…

Describe your wedding style.
I wanted to feel like an island princess, so I customized a ballroom gown with small feathers to make me feel like I was in a carnival band, but it also gave me the fairytale wedding vibes. Wedding shopping was challenging because of my size, but the moment I stepped into Ese Azenabor’s shop, they made me feel welcome, and it was easy to put my dreams into reality. My husband’s suit was hand-picked by his father, who has spent a decade in the suit business.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding?
My husband’s family is Jamaican, and they gave me a traditional cake presentation. This included the family’s eldest matriarch balancing a cake on her head, dressed in conventional Jamaican attire. The whole family marched behind her, singing and dancing, and she presented me with a cake.
The Caribbean Sea provided a breathtaking backdrop as we celebrated our union as one for the first time…
– Dr. Kedar Johnson (Groom)
What is the best memory from your wedding?
The best memory from the wedding is seeing my husband’s face at the end of the aisle. Knowing everything I dreamed about has come to fruition.
The air was filled with the sweet aroma of tropical fruits and the joyous laughter of guests, creating a magical ambiance that captured the essence of a dreamy Jamaican wedding…
