Featured in Issue 32, this “Rhythm and Romance” themed wedding editorial is a beautiful tribute to Motown elegance with elements of luxury, nostalgia, and purple and lavender decor throughout.
Danielle Andrews of The Wedding Planners Institute of Canada (WPIC Inc.) describes their team’s inspiration and sets the scene for rhythm and romance:
In a harmonious blend of soulful melodies, timeless elegance, and unparalleled luxury, The Ritz-Carlton in Toronto played host to a styled shoot that transports viewers back to an era where music was pure magic and love was a melody.
Named “Rhythm and Romance: A Tribute to Motown Elegance,” the event planned and designed by Danielle Andrews, of The Wedding Planners Institute of Canada, is an enchanting homage to the iconic Motown era, where the air is filled with the electrifying tunes that shaped a generation.
Guests were greeted by a decorated baby grand piano and the sensational sounds of BluSoul, a live Motown band that breathes life into classics from The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, and more.

The bride-to-be…
The gorgeous modern bride and groom, who were resplendent in attire that exuded classic glamour, were the embodiment of this era.
The groomsmen, the groom’s four brothers, all wore jeweled music notes on their lapels rather than boutonieres, and the bridesmaids each wore a wrist corsage.
Custom cocktails…
The bespoke cocktails, the “My Girl Martini” and “Ain’t No Mountain Highball,” were expertly crafted libations paying homage to Motown’s iconic tunes. Served with flair and finesse, and served on vinyl record coasters, these signature drinks captured the spirit of the era, offering guests a sip of nostalgia and sophistication.
Ceremony decor…
The ceremony was set up against the floor-to-ceiling windows in a bright, airy, and opulent burst of florals.
