Gorgeous Black and White Wedding by Janet Howard Studio Photography: Veronica and Marlon

After being in a long distance relationship for six years, Veronica and Marlon wanted their wedding to be a romantic and spiritual celebration of the resilience of their love.  Their wedding took place at the gorgeous St. Regis Hotel in Atlanta, GA. To honor their faith the couple had a gospel choir sing at their outdoor ceremony, which took place on the St. Regis’s beautiful terrace! For the reception, their guests went inside and were blown away by their chic black and white design scheme, complete with a white dance floor. Veronica and Marlon were such a sweet couple to work with. Before the wedding, the bride lived in Boston and the groom lived in London. They have been in a long distance relationship for the past 6 years and it was a joyous occasion for them to finally unite as husband and wife. Veronica was absolutely glowing on the wedding day and it was such an honor to be apart of their journey.

They chose a classic color scheme of black and white with silver accents. The St. Regis was the perfect elegant location for their wedding. Veronica and Marlon chose to do a 1st look so they could have plenty of time to take photos prior to the ceremony. The ceremony took place on the outdoor Grand Terrace.  The aisle runner featured the couples monogram that was custom designed by the stationer, Foglio Press. Although the ceremony wasn’t at a church, it was important for the couple to create an environment that incorporated their spiritual beliefs. We had a gospel choir sing during the service, and the couple said their vows under a boxwood archway with a cross made out of white roses.

The Reception

Guests entered cocktail hour through a draped entry into the pre-function space. The florist, Edge Design, provided a custom black tufted escort card table with a mirrored top. They used rhinestone buttons in the tufts. The die cut escort cards were printed in gray calligraphy. Custom silver banquettes provided additional seating for cocktail hour.

Inside the main ballroom, we designed the reception with a mix of square and round tables along with a 60′ estate table for the wedding party. A white dance floor with the couple’s monogram in the center of the room was flanked by custom silver sofas. The guest tables were all draped in beautiful white linen by I Do Linens. We used black accents in the chair seat cushions and black glitter chargers. Each place setting included a die cut menu card and white chocolate favors with the couples’ monogram. Beautiful white floral centerpieces were held in mercury vases that glowed in the candlelight. Veronica & Marlon along with their guests danced the night away to the Rupert’s Orchestra band. They ended the night with a sparkler exit in front of the hotel.

But an hour later, after changing clothes, the bride and groom joined their guests at an after party complete with chicken biscuits, parmesan fries, and red velvet cake pops.

My cheeks literally hurt from smiling after this wedding. Veronica and Marlon were so in love and truly enjoyed every element of their wedding day. I so enjoyed working with them and bringing their wedding vision to life!
