Inspired by experiencing a party through the lens of a champagne glass, Guillermo and Hamed’s modern chic wedding in Miami was the perfect blend of sophistication and fun!
Guillermo and Hamed first met during a social event. The start of the pandemic occurred shortly after, making it difficult for them to date, but they were determined to make it happen.
They thought of creative ways to spend time together and over time their connection deepened. When travel restrictions eased, they went on a thirty-day trip through the Middle East. From there, their relationship only got better and they realized they were meant to be.
I never thought I was going to fall in love or thought of marriage, but love has a funny way of kicking you in the face.

Guillermo’s proposal was equal parts creative and adorable. He created a book with animations of them and their journey together. On the last page, there was a cartoon version of Guillermo on one knee asking Hamed to marry him.
Hamed was able to bring down all my walls by showing me that he was faithful, loyal, and wanted something real, and everlasting.

How did you meet?
Hamed and I met via a social event. It was during the beginning of the pandemic, so dating was a little difficult for us but we made it happen. We thought out of the box to just spend time together. It was hard but so worth it. During the pandemic, when traveling was allowed, we packed our bags and spent 30 days traveling in the Middle East to get out of town and out of routine.
Time passed by and things were getting better and better, and somehow, we just fell in love with each other. I never thought I was going to fall in love or thought of marriage, but love has a funny way of kicking you in the face. We eventually moved in and truly got to know each other better over time. We truly understood that this was forever.
Tell us about the proposal.
We both had difficult backgrounds when it came to relationships in love. Our past truly lets us appreciate it. What we mean to each other, and what true love is. One day, I woke up next to him, and he smiled at me. Right then, I knew that I wanted him in my life forever. So I had a book made for him with animations of us and pictures of our journey. At the end of the book, the little cartoon man is on his knees, asking him to marry him.
We always felt that our love was like a movie, something you never expected, but it was beautiful when it happened. With all the ups and downs of our past. Hamed was able to bring down all my walls by showing me that he was faithful, loyal, and wanted something real, and everlasting.
Wedding Style:
We both wore white tuxedos with black lapels and black shoes. We had it custom-made for us by a boutique in Denver, Colorado.
Guillermo and Hamed were inspired by the concept of experiencing a party through the lens of a champagne glass and created an effervescent wedding day… A focus for their theme was neutral color, as they incorporated white florals, faceted glassware, and shimmering touches.

Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding
We incorporated Cuban culture into the food. A dessert table had all Cuban-inspired pastries from Cao Bakery in Miami. They had croquetas, empanadas, and typical Cuban pastelitos.
What is the best memory of your wedding?
Our favorite memories from our wedding were walking down the aisle, our first dance, and seeing Hamed and his mom during their first dance. The speeches from our loved ones will forever be in our hearts.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples?
Don’t listen to anyone but yourselves. Understand what each other wants and doesn’t want. Hire an amazing wedding planner who supports your vision and can give ideas that could uplift your wedding. Set a realistic budget, but don’t follow it. It’s your special day, so have fun!
In true Miami fashion, a lively afterparty hosted dancers, performers, and confetti cannons.
