Dear Jane Photography, LLC captured all the details of Alexis James of Styled Memories’ Old World editorial at the Oxbow Estate in Clayton North Carolina.
With the venue’s vast European influences, viewers are transported to another time filled with intimate moments of romance and intrigue.
The boutique venue, set along the Neuse River, was enhanced with lush fall-colored florals and greenery adorning a tablescape with shimmering gold cutlery set for eight. A 7 ft 2-sided floral arch set the scene for an intimate candlelit ceremony.
Three real couples and a solo bride posed as muses for the day wearing traditional yet trendy high-fashion attire styled by wardrobe assistant Brooke Jackson. A special guest (a horse!) was incorporated into the photos for an extra touch of uniqueness.
Planner Alexis James explains “… [We wanted to] show brides and grooms that their wedding portraits don’t have to be boring. They can have unique items like a horse to elevate their pictures for their wedding.”
Other details, like adding real fruit, custom hand-painted stationery, and gold and black Italy-imported chargers to the table setting elevated the overall design. No element was overlooked!

- Location: Clayton North Carolina
- Venue: Oxbow Estate
- Date of shoot: Sunday, April 28, 2024
This venue sits on 10 acres of lush land and has an old European feel.
When seeing the venue we at Styled Memories wanted the design of the venue to be Old World editorial. This means using the trending drop waist gown and real fruit to elevate the tablescape and the neutral color palette ties the shoot together.
Thiri
Not to mention the unique horse we incorporated into the shoot to show brides and grooms that their wedding portraits don’t have to be boring they can have unique items like the horse to elevate their pictures for their wedding.
The florist went above and beyond to elevate the shoot to the next level.
Florals I feel make any shoot or any celebration and take them to the next level. Florals tell a story on what or how the shoot was trying to be betrayed, and in this story, it would be a high editorial European vibe.
Makenzie & George Flowers
All models in the shoot knew they had to tell a story when modeling and they for sure delivered. The overall wardrobe feel was old high fashion and as you can see each model was carefully designed.
Kayla & Cody
The stationery was a fun touch with the artist who made them she hand drew the venue to capture the essence of the venue, and she made sure that her hand drawing showed the beauty of the art.
The photographers and videographers who attended this shoot appreciated the hard work these artists put into this stationery suit.
It took a village to make sure the shoot day was perfect and everyone from the luxury wedding industry made sure the shoot was perfect.
