LeBron James, 28, received his most important ring this past Saturday, Sept. 14, when he married his longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson, 27. According to USA Today and The Huffington Post, the couple married at the lavish Grand Del Mar Hotel in San Diego in front of 200 people. Intense security measures were taken to keep the details of the wedding private. Television footage shows that tents and umbrellas were used to shield the identify of the arriving guests. It is also reported that no cellphones or cameras were allowed into the wedding. Heat owner Micky Arison, coach Erik Spoelstra and many of James’ teammates including Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union, Jay-Z and Chris Bosh were on the guest list. R&B singer Neyo later performed at the reception.
According to US Weekly online, Savannah,”wore a stunning strapless white dress with a low-cut back for the big day. Her hair was pulled back in a bun. Following the ceremony, guests were escorted to a hotel ballroom for cocktails, and later to a massive tent for the party to begin.”
James and Brinson, have been together since they were 16 years old and have two sons, LeBron James, Jr., 8, and Bryce Maximus, 6. James proposed to Savannah just after midnight on Jan. 1, 2012 in Miami Beach. According to USA today, James has only discussed the wedding in general terms, once describing his role as only to ensure “that Savannah gets whatever she wants on her day, the wedding day she always dreamed of.” In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Brinson shared, “I feel like everything is happening because it’s supposed to. It was all in the stars.”
We cannot wait until pictures are released for this wedding, until then we send our congratulations to this beautiful couple.
