Camille carries herself with such grace, class and breathtaking fabulousness that one might mistake her for princess. And what do you do when a princess is to be married? Throw her a glamorous royal bridal shower of course! Camile’s best friends and family, including her maid of Honor Kenya Moore, teamed up with planner extraordinaire Eliana Baucicault of ellyB Events to plan what Camille describes as a “Royal Tea Party.” The vintage Rhodes Hall in Atlanta, also known as “The Castle On Peachtree,” served as the perfect venue. Guests walked up a red carpet and were greeted by “London Guards.” To play up the theme of the shower, all guests donned royal fascinators and worked it in fabulous pumps. They sipped on custom cocktails with regal names, such as The Princess Bride and The Queen Bellini, and munched on classic tea party fair all served on luxury china. To the pleasure of princess Camille, all of her guests participated in a number of games, including Project Runway The Bridal Shower Edition, in which guests were broken into teams and had to create fascinators and toilet paper dresses out of items such as feathers, rhinestones, and buttons. However, Camille’s favorite moment did not focus on her. She shares, “The most memorable moment was being escorted to the shower by London Guards behind my mother Gi Gi who 4 years ago to the day had a mastectomy after being diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. It was more than amazing to share that moment with her!” With such a giving heart, it is no wonder Camille’s friends insisted she feel like royalty for her bridal shower. Make sure to read on as Camille reveals more of her bridal shower inspiration including who designed her fabulous fascinator, and enjoy all the gorgeous design details which were masterfully captured by Dana Lee Jones Photography.
Who helped plan your shower?
The shower was planned by my Maid of Honor Kenya Moore and my sisters Sharonda, Miss Lawrence, Melissa, Carlon and my cousin Keysha.

Where was your shower held?
The shower was held at what is called “The Castle On Peachtree.” Built in 1904, Rhodes Hall has been an Atlanta landmark for generations. While it was originally the residence of Rhodes Furniture founder Amos Rhodes, today it is a house museum and one of the most unique venues in Atlanta. This was originally the venue I wanted for my wedding but it was too small, so because in my head I am a princess my sister Sharonda said, “YOU WILL HAVE A CASTLE!”

What was the theme for your shower?
The theme for the shower was a Royal Tea Party. My idea was a play on royalty, ladies in fascinators and fabulous pumps.

Where did you purchase your amazing fascinator?
The fascinator was designed by Couture Hat Designer Arturo Rios based out of LA.

What was on the menu?
The menu was classic tea fare with a southern twist everything from Chicken Crepes, Tea Sandwiches to Shrimp and Grits. Vintage China was used for service. There was a Royal Tea Bar where they served signature cocktails, such as The Princess Bride (Veuve Clicquot Champagne with Hibiscus Flowers) and The Queen Bellini (Veuve Clicquot Champage and Peach Puree).

Did you all play any fun games?
There were a number of games, but my favorite was Project Runway The Bridal Shower Edition. Guests were broken into teams and had to create fascinators and toilet paper dresses out of items given like feathers, rhinestones, and buttons. Each team presented their designs on a model on the Red Carpet it was a riot!

The most memorable moment was being escorted to the shower by London Guards behind my mother Gi Gi who 4 years ago to the day had a mastectomy after being diagnosed with stage 4 Breast Cancer. It was more than amazing to share that moment with her!

Anything else you would like to share?
My future husband and our two sons came to the shower at the end and handed boxes of Godiva chocolate to the ladies attending.
