Hello there! We have another romantic styled shoot to share with you produced by a Coterie member out of the DMV area, Judah Avenue Photography. It’s overflowing with passionate reds, delicate pinks and one spectacular cake by Desserts by Dana. You really need to check the pictures out to see what we’re talking about. Enjoy!
From Judah Avenue Photography
“The team wanted to produce a styled shoot that was strongly reminiscent of Valentine’s without being too ‘themey’. Our color palette consisted of reds, pinks, ivory and silver tones with a pop of green. The bride’s bouquet was inspired by the traditional reds and pinks associated with the worldwide lovers’ holiday but with a unexpected twist. The florals were carefully chosen and designed by Petals and Promises of Silver Spring, MD to present a spectrum of pale pinks and deep ruby reds accented by an array of matching hued ribbons. Garden of Eden International created the lovely snowy valentine tablescape to complement the snowy landscape. The goal was to produce a lantern and roses based table that complemented our white laced environment with it’s distinctive pop of Valentine red chair covers, without competing with the florals in the bouquet. The green winter cacti provided a pop of green freshness that balanced the icy tones of the weather. The bride’s make up is distinctively old hollywood in reds, pinks and lavender hues. The hair is also vintage inspired and artfully crafted by Lori Nansi of Le Mariee. The legendary Chef Dana of Desserts by Dana (and winner of TLC’s TV show Cake Boss) designed the cake to inspire “love” when you look at it. Adorned in a red rose pattern, lace and pearls are the foundation of this piece. Our dresses from Bella Chic Luxe Bridal in Woodbridge, VA are designed by Stella York from the Essence of Australia line. The veil is a custom piece from Beatrice Couture. The groom’s spiffy suit is by 4J Couture of Laurel, MD. A non traditional navy colored suit enhanced the richness of the warm colors in our palette. Stationery designs (by Kisha Kingston of Royale Amethyst and Haliena Snowden) were inspired by all things love. The subtleness of blush pink combined with hints of bold red details set the tone for this “Love on Top” affair. Woodlawn Manor, the setting for our shoot, is a Georgian style manor house sitting on the rolling hills of Sandy Spring, MD. Part of the underground railroad, it boasts of a rich American history replete with the original slave and post slavery tenant houses. It is the perfect location for weddings and other social events, and on a warm day, you can even see horses grazing in the pastures. The day was coordinated by Lola Divine Events Planners and production is by Nafa of Judah Avenue Photography based out of Silver Spring, MD.”
