Being married to someone in the military may prove difficult with the constant moving and time spent alone; luckily for Pearlice and Charles they were both in the army and comfortable with the lifestyle. Throughout their careers, they were stationed within the same unit and would frequently catch up on each other’s lives. It was not until 1999 that they spent a romantic evening together. Their friends set them up on a blind date at the Military Police Corp Ball. At first, they were shocked, but by the end of the evening they were inseparable. A year later they brought their families together as one. Now more than a decade has passed and they’re still making each other laugh as they did all those years ago. They had a beautiful vow renewal last December at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. Congratulations to the beautiful couple for the last 13 years of marriage, we hope you many more decades of love!
Wedding Theme
“We Still Do” Theme. The inspiration for our vow renewal came from the colors of our first wedding day (purple, lavender, and silver) the memorial to my mother and the Iris flower, which is her flower, and the logo, flower/color for my event planning company. Simple Elegance with décor in soft colors, lots of candlelight, and textured linens.
Wedding Style
My wedding dress was an Ivory Casablanca Couture gown with Sweetheart neckline with an elegantly ruched bodice highlighted with re-embroidered lace and Swarovski Crystal appliqués. The full pick-up skirt flowed into an extended train. Favorite Accessory: white mink faux fur couture scrunch wrap.
Memories
Seeing the Iris Flower in my mom’s seat at the chapel and dancing to our first song. It really solidified the true meaning of our relationship.
Incorporation of Culture
We incorporated culture by choosing food stations from our favorite military duty stations of Italy and Germany. We added a Southern station with a twist because we are both from Alabama.
