It can be very nerve wracking when you are set up on a blind date, but sometimes taking a chance can lead to true love. When Ayisha’s friends suggested that she go on a blind “meet and greet” to hang out with George, she “wasn’t too thrilled.” Her doubts turned into smiles, as they spent the evening carving pumpkins and battling in a Nintendo Wii bowling tournament! It was sweet and innocent fun, and they both left enamored with each other.
Being a quite and easy going guy, George decided to propose in an intimate way. After attending a family New Year’s Eve party, the couple returned home and celebrated the new year with a toast and a kiss. As Ayisha prepared to start a movie, George left and returned with a ring! It was a simple, sweet and romantic proposal.
For their wedding, the couple decided to draw inspiration from the natural charm and nostalgic atmosphere of New Orleans. They had a romantic outdoor ceremony in front of a historic mansion. Ayisha made a grand entrance on a horse drawn carriage. Everyone was captivated by her gorgeous Tara Keely fit and flare gown. After their touching vows, the couple also exited on the horse drawn carriage as a second line played. Guests danced as they headed inside for the cocktail hour where they munched on over 80 different types of passed hors d’oeuvres that included great New Orleans classics, such as Seafood Gumbo and Cajun Jambalaya. Although George is known for being reserved, he definitely turned up on the dance floor and it is clear from the beautiful photos by Erika Parker Photography that everyone had a great time.
Congrats Ayisha and George!

The Proposal
Being the easing going and simple (in the most amazing way) kind of guy that George is, he definitely stayed true to himself. After leaving my family’s “70’s, 80’s & 90’s” themed New Year Eve party slightly early, we headed to our home to bring in the New Year with just us two. We “clanked” glasses, kissed and prepared to watch a movie together. As I was getting our movie situated, he excused himself only to return on one knee with a beautiful ring in tow. It was the perfect way to welcome 2013!
Wedding Theme
Our wedding was very Southern Charm-esque. New Orleans is such a vibrant and charming city and served as great inspiration.
Wedding Style
I wore a beautiful Tara Keely gown. It was form fitting but with just the right amout of fullness at the bottom. The detaling was absolutely gorgeous. It had just the right amount of lace and the accent belt was beautiful with a pinch of bling. My favorite wedding accessory was my shoes. They had really pretty vintage like embellishments and the color was so rich and luxurious. Such a great shoe.
Most Memorable Moment
The best memory from my wedding is of my husband (who prefers to steer clear of the dance floor) enjoying himself to the fullest during the reception. He took over with his *surprisingly* great moves.
