Weddings should be a true reflection of you and your spouse’s interests and passions. Nicole and Keenan love traveling and jet setting across the world so much that they even got engaged on an airplane! So it was only fitting that they have a travel themed wedding. They decided to take their guests on a “Vintage Journey Around the World.” Nicole shares, “The look was complete with tables labeled with the places we have traveled together, a huge custom made map that served as the seating chart, vintage suitcases and trunks, world globes, and other vintage travel touches. The venue having an old world vintage feel fit right in perfectly.” From their sincere vows, to their beautiful décor and lively reception Nicole and Keenan had a stylish wedding full of culture and love and Amy Anaiz Photography beautifully captured every moment.

For Nicole and Keenan, it was not love at first sight. Well, at least not for Nicole. While Nicole found Keenan attractive and intriguing, it took months of Keenan asking Nicole out for her to finally give him a chance. His persistence paid off, and soon the couple found themselves falling in love and jet setting across the world.
Seeing how they love to travel, Keenan decided to propose to Nicole while on an airplane. He got the airplane crew to make up some excuse to call Nicole to the front of the airplane, and he proposed to her on the loud speaker in front of everyone!
Having a travel theme for their wedding was a no brainer. The couple decided on a unique color scheme that incorporated silver, navy, cranberry, antique white and hints of burnt orange and peach. Nicole’s bridesmaids wore elegant gowns in shades of navy, grey and cranberry. Flowers in hues of burnt orange and peach were seen throughout their ceremony and reception spaces, and sequined silver table linens and orange up-lighting brought a bit of sparkle and warmth to their summer nuptials.
The couple made sure to incorporate their culture into their wedding as well. Nicole shares, “I am Guyanese and Keenan is American from Brooklyn. The DJ we used was from Brooklyn and is also Guyanese! He gave us the perfect blend of soca and calypso mixed with NYC hip hop! It was definitely a party. The favors for the guests were traditional Guyanese black cakes handmade and iced by my Aunt.”

I love all the vintage touches in this wedding from the clocks to the globes and the suitcases. The map seating chart is a great idea!

Thanks Stephanie! The couple did not want a cookie cutter wedding, so I made sure each table featured a different look. It made for an interesting gathered look – as if you were traveling through the wedding.
