Kwinetta and Brandon met at church in 2009 during a pastoral appreciation event. When Kwinetta first saw Brandon she described it as love at first site, for her. She was instantly attracted to him feeling a connection! Unfortunately, over the years they lost contact with the exception through Facebook. However they reunited finally in December of 2013 and the rest is history!

Tell us how he proposed.
On my birthday September 20, 2014, I had a birthday concert, so that I could celebrate my special day with friends and family. Brandon is a very energetic person, but this weekend he was extremely excited. I was shocked to see that he was so excited about my birthday. At the concert he stood up and presented me with a video of birthday wishes from all of my friends who could not make it in town, then he played a video slideshow with pictures of us throughout our relationship. In my mind, I was thinking “Oh my goodness, is Brandon about to do this?” I got rid of the thought because at that time we had only been dating 6 months. However, to my surprise he got down on one knee, and asked me to be his wife. When he stood up and hugged me, I wanted to hug him forever. I realized that I was hugging my fiancé’, the man of my dreams, my answered prayer, and my best friend.
What did you do on your first date?
Our first date was awkward initially. Our first date was on Valentine’s Day. At the time I lived in Charlotte, NC and Brandon lived in Georgia, so the majority of our reconnection was on the telephone. Our date was the first time we were forced to see if our chemistry was real. Brandon came to my house to pick me up and, he showed up bearing gifts. I had never been picked up for a date so the energy in my house was hilarious. Brandon sat down with me at the table and helped me grade papers for a while, then we actually went on a double date with friends and enjoyed the evening at Ruby Tuesday. At the end of the date I knew I had been on my last “first date”.
How has wedding planning been so far?
Wedding planning has been great. There are days when it is hard because sometimes I wish I had more support in certain areas. However, Brandon is not your typical groom. He is very involved in EVERY detail of the day, which makes this process much better. Brandon has great ideas that he brings to the table, so I am ecstatic that our day will be infused with elements of both of our personalities.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day.
There are a few things that I am excited to experience on my wedding day. I am excited to have my father walk me down the aisle, because he has been such a great example all of my life. Then, I am excited for Brandon to see me, giving him our first married kiss, and I am looking forward to taking pictures.
