When Dominick saw Kammie at Buffalo Wild Wings, the soon-to-be police academy graduate knew he had to arrest her attention. I walked up to her and said, “you are beautiful, can I take you out?” They talked for the rest of the night and eventually exchanged numbers before parting ways. A casual night out for the couple turned into a profound 3-year relationship that led Dominick to ask Kammie for her hand in marriage. Coterie member Chip Dizard shot the amazing trailer for their loving and emotional wedding day. Watch the wedding video below and read more about their day as told by groom Dominick.

Tell us how you proposed!
I proposed on the celebration of our 3 year anniversary January 18, 2014. I started ring searching only a week prior to this. I called my best friend and best man, Lonzell, and told him I was ready to start looking and he of course was like okay, before we start looking make sure you know the 4 C’s. I also called my grandfather to see if he could help because I knew nothing about jewelry, and he told me he had a friend that has more knowledge of jewelry than he does so Mr. Barry came with us. On that wet and rainy Saturday January 11, 2014 we all packed in my car and drove to Philly. I didn’t expect to get a ring that day, but I saw a ring I couldn’t pass up on, so I bought it. I came back home and immediately asked for her parents’ blessing. With a week left to plan a proposal I went to all the local 5 star restaurants in Baltimore, until I found Aldo’s Ristorante Italiano. I met with the event manager and owner who helped me plan a night we would never forget. The day started out with activities that she had chosen for us to do. We had a couples massage in the morning and then did pottery in the afternoon. Lonzell helped me out again and was our chaffeur for the evening and came to pick us up at the house to take us to the restaurant. When we arrived we were taken to a secluded part of the restaurant. The table was set for two and had real candle lights. We started to converse about how the day had been so far and then I began. For some strange reason I had decided to talk about all of my short comings and mess-ups in our relationship, I thought it would make her more emotional and it did. She told me quickly to stop talking about it, that she wanted to enjoy our night. Then I got on one knee and she started crying, I said to her will you be my wife. I cried a little but I don’t think she caught me.
Describe your bride’s wedding dress style.
As the groom I would be lying if I told you I know the style. It just looks like the mermaid fit.
What are your favorite memories of your wedding day?
For me it was the speech my best man gave to us. My wife might say it was the look on my face as she approached the altar. All in all we enjoyed our wedding from start to finish.
What advice do you have for soon-to-be married couples?
Couples need to take their time and plan this event. Don’t rush it because you will probably forget something or have to cut corners and it will just make your wedding look cheesy in the end.
