Simone and Jacob’s charming evening engagement session in DC was a stylish and cozy way to celebrate the couple’s journey to I Do!
Jacob planned a romantic proposal for his love Simone on the last day of the couple’s fun anniversary weekend.
For their engagement session, the couple went for a stroll through the quaint streets of Georgetown. Known for its dreamy homes, scenic walks, cobblestone streets, and famous canal, Georgetown was an amazing destination for engagement photos. Elegantly dressed, Simone and Jacobn also took time to celebrate with craft cocktails at a sophisticated bar in the heart of the neighborhood.

How did you meet?
We met at a lounge in DC.
What did you do on your first date?
We went to the movies and grabbed dinner afterward.
When did you know he/she was “the one”?
Simone: I knew Jacob was the one when I saw how he got along with my family. We’re a tight knit bunch so when he fit right in, I knew he was special. Family is everything to me and seeing how much he genuinely loves them and me really confirmed everything.
Jacob: Simone challenged me and encouraged me to go after my goals. I love that she’s a strong source of support for me and her family and loved ones.
Tell us your proposal story:
It was our anniversary and Jacob planned a fun weekend doing some of our favorite things. We spent Saturday afternoon in Georgetown walking around outdoors and enjoying the warm weather after a relaxing morning at the spa. On Sunday, Jacob surprised me with gifts that represented some of the goals we discussed accomplishing together like traveling to new countries and turning our passion projects into businesses. That evening, he took me to dinner in Fells Point and I thought we were heading home after dessert. He suggested we take a walk and completely surprised me by proposing.
Describe your engagement session. Did you have a theme?
We’re both from the DC area so it was important to have our engagement session someplace that instantly reminded us of home. Georgetown has beautiful scenery and architecture, so it seemed like the perfect place to shoot.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
Enjoy craft cocktails.
How has wedding planning been so far?
Wedding planning has been going well so far. We started shortly after getting engaged which has helped us not feel rushed as we get closer to our wedding date. A lot of major decisions were decided early on so that’s helped to make planning pretty stress free for the most part.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day.
We’re looking forward to celebrating with friends and family. We haven’t had a chance to see everyone as much due to COVID over the past two years so it will be nice to celebrate in person with our loved ones.
