Welcome to another fabulous edition of Fashion Fridays. Today, the focus is on upcoming fashion label, Zed-Eye!
New Spring/Summer 2011 apparel fresh from the runway has been added to Independent African fashion boutique, Agnes & Lola. One item in particular caught my attention. It was this blue wrap dress designed by Zed Eye with the feather, fur, Ankara detail on the shoulders. London-based fashion designer Ngozi Pere-Okorotie of Zed-Eye recently published on her website the print AD campaign in support of Tribal Romance: Revisited Volume 2 Spring/Summer 2011 collection. Zed-Eye, which has notable Nollywood star Genevieve Nnaji, Kelis, and Shingai Shoniwa of the Noisettes as its favorite celebrity clients, draws upon many African fashion trends such as jewel-tones, color-block and Spring’s hottest look – the turban or head wrap. Lace and hues of orange and blue are the dominant style traits of this handmade collection. Ngozi, a London College of Fashion graduate, created a dynamic mix of broad shoulder dresses, billowing shift dresses, and colorful harem pants for the collection that picked off where her 2010 Tribal Romance Revisited Volume 1 left off. Her tribal womenswear collection provides chic tops, pants, jackets, and dresses for the stylish woman who loves African fashion and cultural themes. Made primiarly out of African textiles like Ankara, Zed Eye also provides sleek silhouettes with a vintage flair.
