This super sweet e-session beautifully photographed by Milanes Photography proves that workplace romance can lead to a lifetime of happiness. I love the bride’s style and the pair make a really cute couple. Meet the lovebirds…
Bride: Ahlia Walters Groom: Max Landes Occupations: “Max and I both work for Global Imports BMW. I (Ahlia) work for the service department but in the Sales building as the Recon Manager/Internal Advisor handing New BMW vehicles as well as our eBay Vehicles. Max works in Service department and is an Assistant Service Manager.” Wedding Date: 5/20/12 Wedding Location: The Ceremony & Reception will be held at The Biltmore in Atlanta, using the Imperial ballroom for the ceremony and the Georgian ballroom for the reception.Here’s how the couple met…”Max and I met at work. He sent me anonymous flowers one Valentine’s Day and after having dinner we have been inseparable ever since.” -Ahlia. It was during dinner at that very same restaurant (Tuscany in Woodstock, GA) where Max proposed to Ahlia. Find out more juicy details on their wedding website.
These days we are witnessing more and more sweet romances between interracial or multi-cultural couples. We asked Ahlia if, as an interracial couple, they have encountered any difficulties or challenges. “To date we have not :). Max and I have always thought that love doesn’t see color and surprisingly a lot of people seem to agree. I never even gave it a thought, and believe we’re living in a better era for interracial unions.”
{Some Wedding Details}
What’s the theme for your wedding? “We really couldn’t decide on a theme, but if I had to pick a word to describe our wedding it would be Elegance!” – Ahlia
What has been the most difficult part of wedding planning thus far? “We became engaged in December of 2010 so we have had a lengthy engagement. This has helped a great deal to plan so far ahead. If I had to say anything was difficult, it was probably in the very beginning of planning. Picking a venue to accommodate the amount of guests we are expecting, and finding a caterer that both met our expectations and within our budget.” -Ahlia
How did you select your wedding planner and photographer? “I (Ahlia) had googled weddings in Atlanta and also Weddings that were held at The Biltmore. From there I would look and see who did what. I stumbled upon a wedding that Eliana did and went to her website. From there I sent an email, and we arranged for a meeting…..I just love her! I love how organized and efficient she is. I also found it a funny coincidence that another co-worker referred me to his wedding planner and it ended up being Eliana also! As for the photographer I googled photographers that had done weddings at The Biltmore and from there looked at their websites. I found a few I really liked. I then also asked Eliana if she could recommend any and she referred me to Cathi Milanes from Milanes Photography. Max and I both looked at her site and just loved her work, and how her photos just popped with color. From there a meeting was arranged and after her presentation we were both sold immediately.”
What do you look forward to most on your wedding? “Max looks forward to the reception :) I am looking forward to the whole wedding overall but seeing a lot of family that I don’t see on a regular basis as well as meeting some of Max’s family members and friends that I haven’t met yet.”
Lovebirds…
One thing you love most about him…
“This question is actually tough because there are so many things. I love that Max is thoughtful. He’s so considerate and caring. I also love the fact that he is so smart. ( I always tell him he should go on Jeopardy) He can be quite a bit of a perfectionist and always wants things done perfectly no matter how big or how small. He always gives 100%, I love that about him, and lastly his amazing smile. It could light up a room. You see him smile and it makes you want to smile.” -Ahlia
One thing he loves most about you…
“Max loves the fact that we have so much in common. Can you believe we are both allergic to mushrooms and our birthdays are a week a part to the day! We always say that we are 2 puzzle pieces that fit together perfectly.” -Ahlia
Advice for brides-to-be…
“Start planning as soon as you get engaged! That way you don’t have to stress about anything and it will make wedding planning easy and fun. It will also give you time to research anything that you may be unsure of. Taking your time, comparing services and prices allows a couple the benefit of savings as well. When you are forced to get things at the last minute, you usually spend more.”
