What could be better than a romantic engagement session set in a cozy coffee shop? Hopping on a cool custom Harley with your fiancée on the same day to celebrate your upcoming I Do’s!
After seeing Aleisha on Facebook, curiosity led Nick to find out who this mystery woman was which eventually led to a surprise proposal at a family wedding.
With their shared love of motorcycles and coffee, Aleisha and Nick decided to celebrate their engagement news and have Muna Coterie member Smithalee Photography on hand to capture every moment. The day saw the coordinated couple at The Pharmacy Coffee and then ready to roll on two custom Harley-Davidson rides.
Our engagement session truly defined us as a whole. From the serious faces to the smiles from ear to ear showing all our teeth, I guess you can say our theme was “truth and happiness”.

How we met…
We met through one of our bridesmaids who is a mutual friend.
So, our first date went just like this…
The global shutdown had just lifted, and I went down to Atlanta to visit our mutual friend and also to meet Nicholas. We went out to eat and talked all night. Afterward, we went back to our friend’s house and watched movies until we fell asleep. The next day I was planning to leave, but I stayed in Atlanta for an extra day. We’ve been connected ever since!
Our proposal story…
We were preparing to attend a family wedding and I had been looking for a blue outfit, which was Nicholas’ idea. The morning of my cousin’s wedding, I had a nail appointment, and my mind was all over the place.
I was explaining to the nail tech about my outfit dilemma. She suggested I call a lady who owned a boutique in the area, and I went to Facebook to check the boutique out. I fell in love with a blue dress on the boutique’s page but she wasn’t open, so I called the boutique and found out the store opened at 4:00 pm.
At this time, it was 11:30 am and my makeup appointment was scheduled for 1:30 pm. I knew I didn’t have time to waste so I ran to the mall. The owner of the boutique answered, and I told her my dilemma and explained how I felt the dress she had was what I needed. She asked me what time the wedding started, and she said don’t worry I got you, just get dressed here.
I flew home showered, grabbed some items, and hurried to my makeup appointment. My nerves were still shot because I wasn’t sure if the dress would fit or even if it looked good on me. I left my appointment and headed to the boutique.
The weather was cold and rainy, but I tried to remain positive. I finally arrived at the boutique, and she had everything ready from the accessories to the dress. I only came with my shoes and everything fit and looked perfect.
So we both arrived at the wedding and everything went well.
Nicholas asked me to come outside and I said “Dude it’s cold.” He said “Come outside I have to tell you something”… I was complaining the whole time walking outside.
We walked to the car and man when I tell you I wasn’t ready for the next move. He started saying how much I meant to him and how much he appreciated me. Then tears started rolling and I realized this was a very serious moment. He got on one knee and popped the question. Of course, I said yes!!!!!
We went back into the reception, and I pulled my cousin to the side and tears were falling down my face. It had just hit me what had happened. I was sooooo happy, it felt surreal. The whole day was at first just awful to me, but the day ended great.
After all of that, I wouldn’t change a thing about that day!
I choose you…
Aleisha: I knew Nicholas was the one when he helped me with understanding and patience. Our communication was also top-tier. It felt right when we were together.
Nicholas: I knew Aleisha was the one when I was living in Atlanta, my vehicle had broken down and my second was back in Greenville. I told her the situation and her reply was (what do you need me to do). I was shocked by her response, and that she then drove three hours to pick me up! So of course I drove back up after she worked all day like I did. I knew it after that.
The perfect theme…
We both love and enjoy riding motorcycles. Harley’s to be exact.
Adding the motorcycles for part of our engagement session described the mutual love we share. The coffee shop part of the session expresses how we enjoy dates with each other, which is one of our favorite things we do together.
Our engagement session truly defined us as a whole. From the serious faces to the smiles from ear to ear showing all our teeth, I guess you can say our theme was “truth and happiness”.
Planning for the big day…
Wedding planning has been going great. We started right away but now we’re just a little bored until the six-month countdown starts to finalize everything. All the big things are booked and under contract.
Our future together…
Aleisha: I’m looking forward to sharing a beautiful ceremony filled with love and happiness with Nicholas on our wedding day.
Nicholas: Along with being able to share our union with our family and friends, I look forward to seeing her walking down to me to say “I do” sealing the deal. Now after that, let’s party so I bust out this routine lol. But all jokes aside I really look forward to growing old together.
