Alison and Ken’s love story began in the breakfast line at an offsite work meeting. Following their introduction, a strong impression was left on them both, and quickly a friendship grew between them. A few months into their friendship, Alison invited Ken to come out with some friends to celebrate her birthday. A perceptible magnetism between them radiated on the dance floor. It wouldn’t be long before another outing with friends was set in motion, only this time it would end up being just the two of them. One by one Alison’s friends canceled for various reasons until only her and Ken were left by themselves for a night of dancing. That evening would soon be followed up by their first official date to a café in mid-town Toronto for coffee. The sparks flew and from that day forward they would become inseparable ever after.
Fast forward five years, on a Thursday evening of December 2014. Donned in a fresh outfit, complete with a jacket Alison had gifted him the previous Christmas, Ken called Alison into the living room. It was there that she found him, on bended knee, ring in hand, asking her to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife. Overwhelmed with emotion, Alison immediately said yes, and then proceeded to call her mother and share the wonderful news. For Alison, she knew Ken was the one when he met her family. The ease with which they got along and the genuine interactions they had and continue to have told her the he was it for her.
For Ken, he knew Alison was the one because with her “my days are filled with laughter because she makes me laugh. The only other person that ever made me feel this way was my mother. And laughter was a gift that she passed on to me which I have shared with others. Alison’s ability to make me feel this way is how I knew she was the one!”
Their wedding was classic, clean, and elegant. Alison walked the aisle in a Pronovias collection gown; a tulle dress with a mermaid silhouette, draping, sweetheart neckline, and a chapel length train. The gown was purchased from the same bridal boutique from which Alison’s mother purchased her own dress to marry her father in 1974.
