Today is Opera Day! In honor of this glorious day, let’s take a look at one of the most beautiful weddings MunaLuchi Bride has seen along with some recommendations of the top opera houses in the nation for your honeymoon or anniversary.

Chicago
Chicago is home to one of the most beloved theatre landmarks, the Civic Opera House among a number of opera houses that make up Lyric Opera of Chicago, which currently boasts everything from My Fair Lady to Lucia di Lammermoor in its 2016-2017 schedule.
Chicago Opera Theater closes its 2016 season with Dido and Aeneas and is sure to have a 2016-2017 lineup that will be music to your ears for all eagerly awaiting the upcoming theatre calendar. What show will you choose to buy tickets for on this Opera Day?

New York City
Metropolitan Opera and Carnegie Hall are obvious New York City choices whether it’s Opera Day or not, especially if you’re looking to see and hear Tony Award winners and world renowned opera artists but one must also not forget Brooklyn Academy of Music which is set to host a handful of shows this season including Les Fêtes Vénitiennes and The Astronaut’s Tale.

San Francisco
Fans of Rent, now’s the time to plan your 2017 trip to the city for La Bohème, to see the opera that inspired the hit Broadway show. Or perhaps you’d like to take in Carmen, Aida, or Rigoletto in a way that you never have before. San Francisco Opera has some serious contenders for the 2016-2017 season. If there’s one opera house you visit this season, this is looking like the winner amongst the rest.

Santa Fe
It’s debatable if Roméo et Juliette is indeed a romance worth celebrating but if you think it is, Santa Fe Opera will be home to this performance among a number of others this season.

Houston
Houston Grand Opera is often overlooked which is a shame because it delivers some of the most moving stories with some of the most engaging talent in the country. The Marriage of Figaro just wrapped production and if this title is any indication of what you can expect in the future, only good things are ahead.
