In life, timing is everything…making a decision at exactly the most opportune moment is something always revealed in hindsight, and the results of which often feels more akin to fate than due to chance. When Andrea, feeling discouraged with the lack of results from a dating app decided to delete her profile, the last message received would be the one she had always hoped for – that message, fatefully timed, was from Brandon. After a month of talking they went on their first date, in which Andrea fondly recalls, “our vibe and conversation was so great I didn’t want it to end…it was like we were already a couple.”

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. Brandon and I met on an online dating app. What is interesting is that I had almost given up using the app as a way to meet new people. Brandon happened to be the last person that messaged me before I deactivated my account. We conversed for about a month before we finally decided to go on a date. Our first date was at a restaurant and bar in San Antonio, TX. We instantly hit it off. After dating for about 3 months, I got word of an excellent opportunity that required me to relocate to Hawaii. Brandon and I decided we would commit to a long distance relationship.
After over a year being apart, we decided we would take a cruise. The night before we were to sail off, Brandon took me to a restaurant in the Pearl District of San Antonio. After dinner, Brandon suggested that we walk around and take in the beautiful scenery. During our walk, Brandon shared his plans in life and how he wanted me to be a part of it. He also expressed our deep love for each other. As we headed back to the car to return home, Brandon stopped once more. This time, he was on one knee with a white box in his hands, and the words “Will you marry me,” came out of his mouth. Filled with joy and excitement, I shouted “YES!”
Describe your engagement session. Our engagement session was fun, exciting and romantic. We went for a theme synonymous with our venue, classic and timeless. Our photographer was able to capture both of our personalities with little effort on our part.
What did you do on your first date? We had dinner and drinks. Our vibe and conversation was so great I didn’t want it to end. So I invited Brandon to hangout with my friends at first Fridays in downtown San Antonio. It was like we were already a couple.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? We love to go to the movies. We also enjoy hanging out with our families.
How has wedding planning been so far? Wedding planning hasn’t been as stressful as I thought, being that I’m literally thousands of miles away from my fiance and our venue. My mom and wedding planner have been instrumental in keeping me on task.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. We are most looking forward to seeing each other and spending time with family. It will be over six months since we last laid eyes on each other. Being able to reunite at a venue like the Georgian Terrace is going to be magical. We also can’t wait for the CAKE!
