British writer Rebecca West once said, “art is not a luxury, but a necessity;” the quote that would help conceptualize the Miami Culinary Experience. Planned and designed by Roxanne Bellamy of Roxanne Bellamy Events, the event was minimalistic luxury at its best. Housed in the Macaya Gallery in Wynwood, FL the team strove to use art to create a dramatic and equally romantic setting for their couples; where Daniel Stanford’s art piece, Liberté, quickly became their muse. “Gold and black tones from the art piece were carried over into the rental items from Atlas Party Rental and became the base of the tablescape,” Roxanne describes. “Anthology Floristry built on the foundation and created a lush, organic centerpiece; the inclusion of black taper candles and ornate votive holders provided interest, dimension, and texture,” she continues. As delicate as it was bold, Loup Calligraphy’s black rice paper and gold hand written dinner menus were the perfect touch to tie together Roxanne Bellamy Events’ overall design ideas. Bringing art to life was the melodic voice of Jordan Grizzle who serenaded guests as they dined.
Mirroring the stunning design were the savory foods provided by Chef Lemaire, co-owner of Sensory Delights Catering. Couples, Enide + Nickson and Tamra + Michael, were treated to a seven-course tasting menu that boasted delicacies such as pan seared crab cakes topped with black caviar and roasted garlic aioli paired with a crisp, light chardonnay and herb roasted lamb chops served on a bed of Brussels sprouts served with a robust cabernet sauvignon. What followed were desserts by Chef Natalie, pastry chef and owner of Déjà vu Sweets. Sure to entice even the strictest of dieters, the offerings included a decadent chocolate dome cake and an awe-inspiring crème brûlée, both accompanied by a brut champagne. The curated menu was sure to expand the horizons of even the savviest culinary connoisseurs.
Behind the scenes, Mia Farah Beautique enhanced the faces of the beautiful brides-to-be. Staying true to his photojournalistic style, Stanlo Photography captured every luxurious detail and intimate moment. While Eniary Studio documented the entire experience in real time. “Custom gift boxes, by ADIA, were created for the guests that included the most recent copy of MunaLuchi Bride magazine to keep the couples inspired during their wedding planning process. Macaya Gallery’s pristine space served as the perfect blank canvas for us to create an amazing, collaborative masterpiece,” Roxanne says.
