When we received this submission from Eliana of ellyB Events, we were all over it. The pictures are just amazing and the couple is fun and edgy. Brides-to-be, if you don’t have a planner yet, you need to check out Eliana….she’ll take good care of you…
The day Jamal laid eyes on Ayanna, he knew she would be his wife someday. She was the new kid at the job Jamal had been working at for some time. In just a few weeks after her start date, Jamal finally made a move and introduced himself, and from that point they were basically joined at the hip. To showcase their fun personalities, the couple opted for an urban backdrop for their engagement session. We absolutely LOVE how the photos, shot by Amy of Aragon Photography, turned out. Enjoy!
The proposal…
Jamal surprised Ayanna during a mini-vacation in Florida. “We spent one of our days in Florida at Cocoa Beach. I thought it was just a relaxing day of sun and fun so I was really just relaxing and not interested in getting into the water. But Jamal kept hinting at how I should go down and get in the water. Eventually, after what felt like hours of pestering from Jamal, I decided to go into the water. When I got back, he was sitting on the beach towel with the ring in his hand, looking shy and nervous. Anybody that knows Jamal knows that he is not shy! It was a really sweet proposal.”-Ayanna
On the biggest challenge in planning the wedding thus far…
“I just recently received my Master’s and was crazy enough to think I could go right back into Graduate School in the middle of the wedding planning process. So work, classes, and wedding planning has not been easy. The biggest challenge has been making decisions! I am extremely indecisive. Luckily, I have a wonderful and patient wedding planner, a persistent Mom, and great friends who have really been staying on me and making sure that I get things done!” – Ayanna
What do you look forward to most on your wedding day?
“I think I most look forward to being able to finally bring all the people we love together in one place and celebrate! Jamal’s family and friends live in Florida and my family is here in Atlanta, so it will be nice to really get everyone together and just party! I really want this day to be an outward expression of Jamal and I as a couple, from the food, to the music. It will be great to really show everyone who we are as a couple and not just as the individuals they know us as.”-Ayanna
Best of luck on the wedding planning Ayanna and Jamal! We’re sure your wedding will be edgy and lots of fun…especially with Eliana taking charge! Don’t forget to check out more engagement sessions on our blog, and be sure to visit Amy of Aragon Photography to see more of her work.
