Beauty Corner: To BB Cream or Not?

If you’ve visited the drugstore beauty aisle or opened a beauty magazine lately, you have witnessed the BB and CC Cream Revolution. BB, short for “Beauty Balm” or “Blemish Balm”, and CC, short for “Color Control” or “Color Correcting”, Creams are here to stay, and their skin-perfecting formulas are improving every day!

For as long as makeup has been around, we’ve had to accept the fact that foundations usually work against our skin care regimen, instead of working to improve our skin.  When BB and CC creams were introduced in 2010, they promised makeup coverage and skin treatment in one product!

But what’s the difference between a BB and CC Cream?  In short, there is very little difference between the two creams; and in most cases, they are made of the same basic formula: A Skin Correcting Moisturizer + A Color Pigment. Choose the one that seems to meet your beauty needs- add moisture, even skin tone, or reduce redness, for example.  Most BB Creams, like the award-winning IMAN Skin Tone Evener BB Cream, even skin tone, protect, repair, hydrate and provide light to full coverage.

How to use your new BB or CC cream? Both BB and CC creams can be used for all over coverage or as a primer applied before additional makeup.
