Jamaal and Anais attend the same church in Seekonk, MA, but it was a night out on the town when they crossed paths and exchanged numbers. It was not until a whole year later that they hung out and had their first date. Their first date was a lovely night, full of good conversation at PF Changs in Providence, RI. They knew that this was the beginning of something special.
While their first date was in January of 2012, it wasn’t until May of that same year that Jamaal asked Anais to be his lady. After almost three years of dating, at Jamaal’s birthday get together with both families present, he popped the question to Anais. There was a “special” dessert for Anais to open and when she opened it, she found a beautifully decorated cake with Will you marry me? written on it. When Anais turned around, she found the man of her dreams on one knee asking her to be his wife.
I loved wedding shopping. I went with two of my sisters and my mom. We went to Alexandra’s Boutique in Fall River, MA. My dress has a champagne undertone and delicately decorated with lace. It was the one dress I tried on that made my mom cry. I knew it was the dress for me.
Anais is Hispanic and Jamaal is Native American and Cape Verdean. The night will be filled with lots of dancing– especially lots of salsa, merengue, and bachata for Anais’ Dominicans and Puerto Ricans to get down to.
