With the story of their life together beginning with dinner and dancing, it’s perfectly fitting that Ameche’s proposal of marriage to Melanie took place during dinner as well. This evening was made even more special being the celebration of Melanie’s birthday. A surprise birthday party followed the proposal with both their friends and family from New Orleans and North Carolina in attendance to dance the night away.
A beautiful early Fall Sunday morning was the perfect setting to capture their love for each other (and football) in a classic photography session.
Melanie and Ameche look forward to sharing their special day in the company of friends and family on 3/18/2017 with New Orleans style at the Historic Dekalb Courthouse, Decatur, GA.

The Proposal: Ameche proposed during dinner in Atlanta while celebrating Melanie’s birthday followed by a surprise birthday party attended by friends and family of the couple from both New Orleans and North Carolina. Melanie was completely surprised. We danced the night away celebrating two special events with the people we love the most.
Describe your engagement session: It was a beautiful Sunday morning at Piedmont park in early Fall. The weather was perfect and the scenery was gorgeous. Lots of joggers and families enjoying the day. LaJoy, our photographer, made us feel really at ease and she made the day fun. We are big football fans so we insisted on some football themed shots highlighting the Pittsburgh Steeler (Ameche’s team) and the New Orleans Saints (Melanie’s team).
What did you do on your first date? We went out for dinner and dancing. He made me laugh the entire time and he was a really good dancer.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? Traveling and exploring new cities together. We took our first international trip together to Rome and got caught by the travel bug. Traveling together gives us a chance to experience something new together and create unique memories.
How has the wedding planning been so far? Stressful but fun. We have most of the big items planned so we are looking forward to making a few final decisions and having fun on our big day.
What are you looking forward to most on the wedding day: We are looking forward to sharing our union with our families, having the opportunity for family members on both sides to meet each other, and our traditional New Orleans second line. New Orleans weddings are the best.
