Connie and Willie’s friendship grew into what soon became a long distance relationship. Thousands of miles couldn’t separate these two. They were meant to be. The two became one in one of the most beautiful chapels in all of Texas, celebrating with a reception held at a boutique hotel in downtown Fort Worth. And yes, your eyes aren’t fooling you, Tamron Hall (The Today Show) was one the bridesmaids. What an absolutely beautiful wedding Connie and Willie held!
Wedding Date: May 11, 2014
Wedding Location: Marty Leonard Chapel, Fort Worth, Texas
Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal!
Willie and I met at a lovely jazz restaurant called Button’s Fort Worth. He was with some friends and I came with one my best friends. He noticed me when I walked in and later I noticed. He eventually came over and introduced himself to us. He and I talked and got to know one another the rest of the night. Fast forward with living out of town in Omaha, Nebraska. He would come to visit once or twice a month until he finally moved to Texas.
We moved in together and on our second year anniversary, he surprised me with a trip on a cruise to Cancun. At the captain’s dinner is where Willie proposed to me with the waiter bringing out my dessert with the engagement ring placed inside a chocolate cake.
My wedding dress was from David’s Bridal. The style was a Ivory Galina Sheath Grown with Empire Waist. The shopping was pretty easy because I saw and knew the grown I wanted prior to.
My best memory was our first dance because we started dancing slow then broke out with a face dance and the crowd love it.
Always plan early!
