Our beautiful cover couple, Tiffany Pennywell Brown and Brett Brown (affectionately called “The Browns”), first met and fell in love on season 4 of the hit Netflix show: Love Is Blind.
On the show, fans fell in love with the couple’s playful banter, realness, and maturity in navigating the Love is Blind process.
If you haven’t watched the series, a little background: Love Is Blind is a unique social experiment that sets out to answer the age-old question: Is love truly blind?
Over 38 days, a group of singles are challenged to find love and develop genuine emotional connections without physical attraction involved. Talking in “the pods,” couples chat through a literal wall for 10 days (going on only about 20 dates) to get to know each other.
Once they determine they’ve found “the one,” an accepted marriage proposal is the only way to see their partner in real life, date them, and eventually walk down the aisle to hopefully say yes to forever.
As an outsider looking in, the entire process seems pretty stressful. Finding everlasting love on TV feels far-fetched, to say the least. Even Tiffany and Brett had reservations about going on the show.
Tiffany shares, “To be honest, I was very scared about going on TV and taking that chance of trying to find love. Plus, I didn’t know what people’s intentions were with going on the show. I knew what mine was, but you don’t know about other people.”
Brett echoed her fears: “I did not think I would find a life partner on TV. I mean, I was optimistic going into it. I knew there was a possibility, but did I think that it would actually happen? Absolutely not, but I’m glad I did.”

Despite people’s doubts, throughout the show’s 6 seasons, couples like Tiffany and Brett have found true love in the pods. And watching their individual love story unfold felt real.
Tiffany recalls, “In the pods, I would say my first impression of Brett was that he was very career-focused, a little reserved, but you can tell he was kind. He was very thoughtful. He was very well-spoken.”
Brett first fell in love with Tiffany’s voice.
“She has an absolutely amazing voice that I think was tailor-made to be heard through a speaker in that kind of experience,” he shares. “But outside of that, I picked up on her kindness, her sense of nurturing, and her maturity.”
Following Brett’s proposal, when they first met in person, everything just clicked.
“Seeing her in person was seeing all those things I picked up on in the pods in a beautiful package. It was just up from there,” Brett says, smiling.
Tiffany was equally smitten and pleasantly surprised by just how attracted she was to her fiancé.
“Brett is who I thought he was going to be,” Tiffany shares. “I was able to put a face with the voice. And Brett is just very put together. You can tell he’s confident. I wasn’t expecting all of the physical stuff that comes with Brett. He has a great body, but that’s not what was important. It was his personality that drew me in. And everything else was icing on the cake.”
The couple, who are now going on 2 years of marriage since they wed in May 2022 (before their wedding episode officially aired on Netflix in April 2023), have undoubtedly proved it was real love all along.

Looking back on their journey together, the couple agrees that they do believe “love is blind.” At least, it can be– it certainly was for them!
“It was a lot of stars aligning,” Brett admits. “And I think that we would not have met any other way, considering we lived in two different cities. But yes, I believe that love can be blind.”
Tiffany adds, “I will say love can be blind, but I think you just have to have your experience out there in the dating world and realize that looks aren’t everything. I went into this situation looking for more than just how somebody looked. I was looking for how they treated me, how they made me feel. And if you are in that mind state, then yes, love can be blind.”
Today, living together in Portland, Washington, their love continues to grow and flourish off-camera every day.
As we celebrate love and the newest season of Love Is Blind which dropped on Valentine’s Day (Season 6 is now available to watch on Netflix!), we invite you to get to know the Browns on a deeper level.

Going back to the pods, was there a specific moment when you knew you found the one?
Brett: For me, I wouldn’t say it was a specific moment. I think it was really understanding how I felt when I was out of the pods. In the moment, I think it’s pretty easy to get caught up in conversations, but I was aware of how I was feeling.
Am I thinking about her when I wake up? Am I thinking about her when I go to sleep? How do I feel when I leave the pods? Is she taking up a lot of brain space when we’re outside of the pods? And the answer to all of those was yes.
And then I feel like there was just a lot of alignment on our values, morals, etc. So it really wasn’t a specific aha moment. It was more like it just added up. It just made sense.
Tiffany: I have to say the same thing. It wasn’t a specific conversation, but I really was digging into Brett’s background, and his previous behaviors, because I wanted to determine how he would treat me once we got outside of the pods. One thing I’ve always said is I wanted a partner that makes me feel safe, comfortable, and secure. And that is one thing that I kept circling back to every time we would go to bed at night.
It’s like, how does this man make me feel? What was our ease in communicating with each other? Do I feel like I can be completely vulnerable with him and not feel judged, in a way? Does he validate me? Can I be my most authentic self and he still appreciates the person that I am?
So those were the things that I looked for over time, and I was like, “Yes, this is the person that I want in my life.”
When you left the pods, when did the physical connection align with the emotional one you had established in the pods?
Tiffany: Instantly. I saw Brett and I was like, “Yes, that’s it” … I don’t think I had a type, but he’s just a very handsome man. Honestly, I can’t see anyone not being physically attracted to Brett once they first see him. I had to give you your props, babe. He’s so handsome.
Brett: Same for me. It was almost immediately. If I’m thinking about physical connection and I’m thinking about the reveal, for example, it was like a big sigh of release. There was not a lot of, “I don’t know, is she this” … It was like, “No, no, she’s a stunning woman.” And then once we got to Mexico and spent time together, it was like, “Okay, yeah, this is it.”
Tiffany: Can I just also add that I always … even during our reveal, I was so happy with the way he held me and how comfortable it was even just kissing him. So that’s why it was instantaneous for me, because I was like, “This just fits.”
Fast forward to your wedding day, were you nervous that maybe you weren’t on the same page?
Tiffany: I wasn’t. We had talked a lot about our wedding and we were making all the right steps to make sure our closest loved ones flew in from out of town to be there to celebrate our union. So, I would’ve been absolutely blindsided if Brett said no.
Brett: Same for me. I wasn’t nervous at all, just because we were very transparent and open with each other about how we felt. So, I know on the show it’s about will they say I do or I don’t. But for us, it was like, no, this is a wedding. We’re not bringing people here with a question mark. This is a wedding. Come see us say yes to each other.
How did you feel when you both said yes?
Tiffany: Just elated, that’s the only thing I can think of. It was just everything leading up to this point, and I know it is a very rushed process, but it’s just knowing that we both had so much love for each other and we took that chance on one another because we truly believed that we were each other’s partner.
Brett: I echo that. I felt like it was, I wouldn’t say relief, but just again, just confirmation, validation, celebration. It was just a good feeling. It was a really good feeling knowing that you came in here, kind of optimistic and you fast-forward seven weeks and you’re saying, “I do.” How wild of a story is that?
What was your favorite wedding day memory?
Brett: Man, it’s hard for me to think about my wedding day and not have the infamous pants fiasco… But that’s definitely a memory. It wasn’t my favorite memory, but a memorable one. But I would say for me, I believe it was after Tiffany said her vows, I don’t know if it was thunder or it started raining–
Tiffany: It poured down.
Brett: – It started pouring down rain. And I remember seeing her reaction and there was some reaction in the crowd. At the time, I didn’t know the significance of that, that it was a sign of good luck. So when I figured that out, I was like, oh, wow. Okay, this is something special.
Tiffany: Yeah, that actually was my favorite memory. Our wedding officiant was a family friend who truly made our wedding a celebration, and with us just saying our vows to one another, I’ve always looked for signs, and just the fact that it started pouring down rain, the beautiful backdrop behind us and looking at all of our friends and family and how it even brought some people to tears… that was my favorite moment.
Even though you already said I do on the show, do you think you’ll have another wedding celebration one day? What would your dream wedding look like?
Tiffany: I absolutely want another wedding celebration. I want to make sure that all of my friends and family have enough time to be there to celebrate Brett and me. My dream wedding, I’ve always wanted a destination wedding. I love being by the water and having something that Brett and I just have time to put our special touch on. With the show, it moves quickly. So you’re just making decisions on the fly, but to be thoughtful about this celebration the next time around would be so important for me.
Brett: Yes, absolutely. I would want to do another wedding celebration. One, just to invite all the people that we couldn’t just because of logistics and everything, and just how fast everything happens. I think naturally, some people just can’t come from across the country or financially afford a flight and hotel on such a fast turnaround. So absolutely, that’s one angle. The other angle is really just to go through the real wedding planning process and go over every detail, really pick the perfect venue that fits both of us. I would not do it outdoors again unless it was in the summertime. Also, the reception and being able to play all the music that we like.

Would you incorporate any cultural elements or special details?
Tiffany: No cultural elements that I can think of at this time. But I do want to make sure that all of our loved ones that we’ve lost are somewhat incorporated into our wedding. Whether it just be at the front as we welcome everybody in, pictures of them. There are just so many people who have been a part of our lives that we wish could have been there. Also, I want a live band.
Brett: Yeah, have some friends that sing and it’d be cool to have some people do live singing and stuff like that.
Tiffany: Oh my gosh. I’d write a song and sing it to Brett.
Brett: There we go. There we go. There we go.

Any designers you would love to wear or vendors you would like to work with?
Tiffany: That is one thing I wish I could do again, I would love a beautiful wedding dress. I had limited options while I was on the show, so some of the designers would be, I believe Hanifa just released this beautiful bridal collection. I love some of those dresses. And I think this designer is called Galia Lahav. I want a dress that has a lot of drama, class, and sophistication.
Brett: For me, I want a Tom Ford suit. Get me a tailored-
Tiffany: I knew he was going to say that.
Brett: … Tom Ford. I mean, really. I’d say that’s pretty much it. I’m not really that familiar with vendors when it comes to wedding planning and whatnot, but for me, I would be doubled down on the suit. I’m a big Tom Ford fan.

With the Love is Blind process being so fast-paced, it’s almost like you’re dating backward now. How has married life been post-show? Walk us through a typical day in the life of the Browns.
Tiffany: We’re actually a very normal couple. I mean, waking up, I am the early bird in the household, so I’m usually journaling and going for a walk. Sometimes I’m back before Brett gets up. And it’s work throughout the day, then I come home. I typically am cooking, although Brett does cook on some days as well, but I’m typically making dinner. If I am not feeling it, we’ll go out to eat and then we’ll wrap up the evening. Brett usually goes to the gym too after work, and then, yeah, we may just chill, watch TV, watch a movie, or if I pass out early, Brett is playing his video games.
Brett: Yeah, I mean, we’re very, very normal. She’s always up before I am and always asleep before I am.
Have you discovered any quirks about each other that you’re not so keen on? Or any new things that have made you fall in love even more.
Tiffany: Very minor things. I think a lot of things that Brett does, it’s cute. I love when Brett is thinking really hard about something and he starts twirling this little curl in the front of his head.
Things that have made me fall in love with Brett more, I would say is I love watching him sleep. I love giving him kisses early in the morning. Just seeing him in this completely relaxed state, it’s just my favorite.
Brett: For me, something that I’ve noticed that’s fun, is that Tiffany has no nerves. She is the easiest person on the planet to scare, and I actually have a lot of fun surprising her… She’s so bad, like we could be sitting on the couch and she goes to start making dinner, and I come up behind her and she jumps. And she knows I’m in the room.
Tiffany: But he just likes to sneak up on me like very quietly.
Brett: Yeah. Only because she’s so easy to scare. So I have a lot of fun with that. Just the other day, I came in and I could hear her singing. And I’m like, “Okay, she probably has her headphones on, she probably didn’t hear me coming in.” So I just kind of stood there, just kind of watched her for a minute until she turned her head and noticed me. And then once she did, she just jumped and was like, “Brett!” I’m like, “What are you talking about? All I did was stand there.” But it’s actually something I really like about her, it’s fun.
What qualities do you love most about each other?
Tiffany: I love Brett’s confidence and determination. He’s very self-assured and I am someone who always doubts myself, so having someone who is quite the opposite, is almost like a motivator. Even when he’s not telling me something directly, it’s just by his actions. I love that about Brett.
He’s consistent. He’s thoughtful. He is very articulate and well-spoken, and when you ask Brett a question, he truly thinks through what he’s trying to say versus just filling the air with words. I really appreciate that about him.
Brett: For me, it’s Tiffany’s sense of nurturing. Her ability to connect with people, her maturity, her understanding. I feel very supported by her, and she’s like that rock that I need, even though I’m very self-assured. Sometimes you just need that person in your corner that’s like, “Babe, you got this.”
What are your favorite activities to do together?
Tiffany: I love traveling with Brett. The reason why is because whenever I travel, there’s certain things that I have to see or do when I travel, and I need people to be along for the ride. Brett is kind of like always down. Brett is always down to go anywhere and do anything.
And another activity we like to do is photography. Brett’s more of the professional at that, but I love seeing the world through Brett’s eyes when he photographs things. How he frames it. Maybe like what he’s taking a snapshot of and what he thinks it’s communicating. Just being able to tap into somebody’s creativity through photography, I love learning that with him.
Brett: I’d say travel, for sure. Before Tiffany, I feel like I did a lot of solo traveling, which was fun, and I think it’s something everybody should be comfortable doing, but definitely, there were times where I would be places and was like, “Man, actually it’d be really good to experience this with somebody.”
Tiffany’s done a lot of traveling on her own before me, and I think we both have a passion for new experiences, cultures, and food, and being uncomfortable or being in new places that we haven’t been to before. She’s the perfect travel partner.
Still lots of traveling to do, places we’ve been planning on going to next year for sure. I’m hoping to have our travel calendar, just do some more international stuff. We’ve done a lot of traveling here in the States and Mexico, but we haven’t flown over the ocean just yet together, so we got to make that happen pretty soon.
How do you navigate work-life balance and make time for each other?
Tiffany: I actually have more flexibility just with my work and being able to work from home. So I’m always here before Brett has to go into the office and when he comes back home. It’s all about prioritizing each other. I am someone who likes to keep things new and fresh, and I need a partner who is okay with a little spontaneity.
So if I feel like we’re getting into a rut, I make it a point to at least say, “Hey, babe, we need a date night. Let’s explore something new in the city.” Or just completely surprising Brett, be like, “Hey, just be ready at 6:00 or whatever.” But yeah, I think it’s just prioritizing each other and knowing that your relationship, at least for me, should come before your job.
Brett: My time nowadays is a little more full with work stuff, so definitely, like between work and then other things with like grant partnerships and things, I definitely have to make sure that I’m not getting so pulled into things or things that aren’t my marriage, and devoting all of my time to those things. Because I can kind of zone out and really get in my element and want to keep working, but I got to have my priority straight and have to say, “Hey, actually no, I’m not going to do this tonight. I need to be a husband for a change.” And like Tiffany said, she kind of plans things as well. So it’s something that I have to be more conscious of how I’m using my time, just because I still work full-time. But I’m a husband before all of that.
Brett, on the show you always sported the coolest sneakers. Would you ever design a shoe collection inspired by Tiffany?
Brett: Interesting question because what I do now isn’t technically designing shoes. I’m in a very different space professionally, although I did do shoe design at one point in my career. However, I would love to design something for Tiffany. It would be something only for Tiffany, not something sold in stores. It would be a one-of-one. Her knowledge and appreciation for sneakers have grown since we’ve been together. Before she was kind of like, “I don’t know, babe, the sneakers, should I wear sneakers with this?” And I’m like, “Babe, yes. It doesn’t take your outfit down. It elevates it.” So I would love to design a sneaker for her.
As far as what color, fabric, details? Oh, man. I could go down a rabbit hole with that, so I don’t know. I’d have to do my research. I’d say it would be something elegant. I probably would stick to leather, maybe do some H Town colors.
Comfort would definitely be a must because a lot of times when she doesn’t wear sneakers, she’s like, “I want to be comfortable.” As much as I love seeing her in heels and whatnot, I know that it’s probably not the most comfortable thing to walk around in. So just trying to mix elegance with some street style.
Who’s your favorite couple on Love Is Blind since your season?
Tiffany: We’re going to go with the OGs: Lauren and Cameron. The reason why I say Lauren and Cameron is Lauren has such an amazing personality and I feel like it’s very similar to mine. She seems very outgoing and personable. Pretty funny too, and I love seeing her interactions with Cameron. I felt like they really balanced each other out, and there were qualities that I think I see in Cameron, that I see in Brett. You don’t have to always be identical. Sometimes you just need somebody who compliments you and balances you out.
Brett: Yeah, I’d say the same. The OGs. I think they just had a level of…
Tiffany: Maturity?
Brett: Yeah, maturity, drama-free. Seemed like they knew what they wanted, great communication between the two.
Tiffany: Seemed like they respected one another.
Brett: Just a great story from beginning to end. They would have to take the crown for me.
Thank you, Tiffany and Brett, for participating in this exclusive MunaLuchi interview! Your Love Is Blind journey has inspired us all to look beyond the surface… and in the modern dating world where “swiping” takes precedence, singles searching for love should take note. What really matters is how someone makes you feel. “Everything else [is] just icing on the cake,” Tiffany shares. We wish you both many more years of wedded bliss, happiness, and adventures together.
