Dantia and Cliff were both students at Purdue University when they met. They both had crushes on one another but it wasn’t enough for them to take the plunge right away. During their senior year they decided to take things to the next level and start dating.
Six years later while the two were vacationing in Atlantis, Bahamas, Cliff took the leap that would change both their lives forever. They’d been enjoying each other’s company over a private dinner when he asked Dantia to be his wife. Being their favorite vacation spot and the place where they got engaged, the couple chose Atlantis – Paradise Island, Bahamas to officiate their love and be married. A blue and yellow color palette paid homage to the Bahamian culture and aptly fell in line with the sunny destination. The men donned khaki colored suits perfect for a beach wedding, while the ladies wore flowing dresses that danced in the breeze. With lots of color and even more love, Dantia and Cliff said “I do.”

Describe your wedding dress. How was your shopping experience?
I actually did not search a lot for my wedding dress. I saw a beautiful gown with a completely sheer back and knew I wanted to base my dress around that element. A few years ago, my older sister had her wedding gown made by an amazing woman named CC. Elaine. I contacted her and explained various elements I wanted in my gown, and she executed every aspect amazingly!
What is your favorite memory of your wedding day?
Our favorite memory was enjoying our first dance as the sun was setting on the beach.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples?
Don’t allow YOUR wedding day to come and go without taking a moment to enjoy YOUR day. Hire a wedding planner to ease your stress and handle everything. It’s easy to get so obsessed with ensuring everything about the day is perfect for everyone else that it’s easy to lay down the night of and not remember some special moments.
