How they met…
The couple first met in May of 2014 at a University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) graduation block party.
Unknown to Candice, Jordaniel already had a crush on her. But that night, he finally made a move! He casually asked her for a picture together and then pretended his phone was dead so she had to take the picture on her phone. After they took to the photo, Jordaniel asked Candice to send him the photos so he could get her number. The rest is history!
The proposal…
While Candice was just finishing filming the first half of Season 1 of her new show “NoHo” (which is now available on Amazon Prime!), Jordaniel was making moves of his own!
Planning the proposal for months, he thought about every detail. He even called a few of their mutual friends to get everything right. He also had to be very strategic planning due to the pandemic.
In the end, he ended up telling Candice he “wanted to celebrate her for her recent accomplishments and that he would be setting up something special that required her to dress up.”
In reality, Jordaniel had friends set up a dinner for two at home with good music, rose petals, and a photo shoot. Candice was completely surprised by the intimate dinner! But she had no idea what would happen next.
All part of the plan, the photographer pretended he forgot his lens by mistake and on his way out casually mentioned that there was “… a party or something going on downstairs” and that they “should check it out.” So, they headed downstairs.
Filled with all kind of butterflies, Jordaniel led Candice to the “party” downstairs where some of their friends waited with flowers, balloons, and a sign saying “Will you marry me?”.
He then professed his love and got down on one knee! Of course, she said yes! Candice recalls, “…bottles were popped, cheers were loud and that was the beginning of Always and Forever.”
Wedding style & shopping experience…
Envisioning her wedding dress, Candice wanted a gown that “was soft but elegant.” And after a few alterations, she achieved the look she was dreaming of.
Another piece of her attire that completed her look was her head piece by SuReina Bridal. It was called the “Kerin” and was her “absolute favorite!”
Candice admits that her “shopping experience was not the best, being that it was during Covid [and] you could only bring one person with you to the bridal shops.” Nevertheless, she made “the best of it” and loved her wedding day attire!
Their first look…
Cultural elements…
Jordaniel incorporated his Nigerian roots through his custom made suite, which was inspired by Nigerian culture.
Favorite wedding day memory…
Candice’s favorite wedding day memory was having her father officiate their wedding.
For Jordaniel, his “best moment was when [Candice] called [his] daughter up and said vows to her first.”

Wedding advice for other engaged couples…
Candice advices couples to “take your time and enjoy every phase of the engagement.”
“Tune everyone out that’s not you and your partner during the planning process,” she adds. “If you don’t it will drive you crazy. Also, one of the best things we did was after the ceremony and pictures we had a 20 minute private dinner just to process that we are now married and just talk to each other. Our wedding was eventful so I knew we would not have time to eat once we came out for the reception. Hands down the best decision!!”
