By now, you’ve heard of boudoir photography. It has become pretty popular these days as a unique way to surprise your fiance right before the wedding. But here’s a new spin on that…boudoir videography. Our Coterie member, Frank and Mia Films, came up with the idea to shoot a boudoir film for her client, since the client could no longer move forward with videography for her wedding. She says, “4 months ago I was contacted by a bride whom wanted me to film her wedding. Her fiance was deployed in Afghanistan so she was doing all of the planning herself. I was really excited to film the wedding because I’d never filmed a military wedding. She paid her non-refundable deposit and we were all set! Then 3 weeks before the wedding, she emailed me and told me that the price of their wedding had gotten to high so they had to cut a few things to lower the budget so they cut videography.
This was the first time that a couple canceled on me so I was super bombed. (Like for real sad for a few hours lol.) I wanted to do something special for her since she paid her deposit and because I was really looking forward to filming her wedding. So I thought it would be cool to film a boudoir shoot. I’m growing as a director for commercials so I wanted to film it in a way that spoke to my filming style. We filmed it on 12/29/14 and I quickly edited it together so she could give it to her fiance on the morning of their wedding on 12/31/14. They loved it!!”
The film is sexy and classy at the same time. It was truly the perfect gift for the bride’s husband-to-be and they were even more grateful that they were able to get something, although they couldn’t get the full videography package.
According to the bride,
The boudoir video shoot was a great way to give my husband a creative gift. Due to work obligations, we spend a lot of time apart, so this was the perfect way to ensure that he always has a small reminder that I love him and that I am always thinking of him.
Working with Maya and her team was extremely fun. Maya has such awesome energy and she is very innovative in regard to her approach to videography. We completed the shoot very quickly, and I was really happy with the final edit. On our wedding day, I sent my husband a private link to the video via text…his reaction was priceless!! I am so glad that he loves it, and I appreciate Maya for piloting her new endeavor with me.
