Bridgerton-inspired anniversary shoot in Atlanta, Georgia, has passion, charm, and royal decor details.
A wedding day is one of the most beautiful and significant celebrations in one’s life. Yet, for many couples, it also feels like one of the fastest. Married couple Sereta and Hulian Campbell shared this sentiment.
Looking back on their own 2022 nuptials, they felt they didn’t get to fully experience and capture everything. The Bride, Sereta, shares, “We took amazing wedding couple pictures but wanted more together with more flare!”
To re-create the magic of their wedding day, one year later they set out to create a romantic and regal wedding anniversary photo shoot at the site of their nuptials: The Georgian Terrace Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia.
After connecting with their photographer, Craig Obrist, online and sharing their vision with him, their one-stop-anniversary photo shoot became an all-day affair with an additional property added to the photo list via Giggster.
We found a photographer, Craig Obrist, on Instagram. He had a keen eye, a creative mind, and a funny sense of humor. We then located a rental property that provided the perfect backdrop to our vision and voila! Our first-year anniversary photos. We couldn’t be more pleased!

The resulting photos are infused with colorful works of art, royal-inspired details, and backdrops reminiscent of the beloved Netflix show, Bridgerton (which is just one of the many period-pieces the couple love to watch together!).

What was your wedding like?
We wanted a sophisticated and elegant wedding and that is what we planned for. We researched, interviewed, and hired people we thought were the best and could provide us with the services needed for a magical day. What we couldn’t plan or prepare for was the heavenly energy that was present all day.
I knew I would be happy, after all, I was finally getting married. But, I thought getting married without my deceased mother present was going to hit me like a ton of bricks, however, it didn’t! As a bride, I was so happy, overjoyed, and overwhelmed with the love that was present. We both were.
Everything came together perfectly! The décor was magnificent. Our officiants married us eloquently and delicately. The wedding cake was exquisitely aesthetic. The DJ ensured a beat wasn’t missed and kept our guests moving all night. And, the hosting hotel, The Georgian Terrace, was nothing short of amazing providing the gorgeous backdrop for the wedding, cocktail hour, and reception along with some of the best southern cuisine you should expect getting married in the Big Peach.
To sum it up in one word, our wedding was purely DIVINE!
As you celebrate your anniversary, what do you remember most about your wedding day?
Sereta: Neither one of us had a huge appetite which was good since we didn’t have time to eat. We were provided a private, quiet but brief moment to be alone for a few minutes to bask in the significance of our nuptials. As the bride, I didn’t realize I was hungry until it was all over around midnight. We also remember the love, joy, and peace we felt from our guests along with the delight and laughter that filled the air. There wasn’t any drama or sadness. Small mistakes seemed minuscule or nonexistent. It truly was a perfect day!
Was there anything you would have done differently for your wedding?
There were so many additional ideas that we had for our wedding that we just didn’t have enough time to bring to fruition. We wanted all of the guests at our host hotel to receive gift bags with snacks, first aid, and toiletry items. We were able to put those together on site but we were really rushed to do so. We also wanted a limo service for our special VIP guests who were our elders and we weren’t able to pull that off.
Lastly, we wished we had parted ways with our wedding coordinator. This would have been so hard to do but when you have determined that they aren’t meeting your expectations halfway through your planning, their contract really should be terminated. We ended up doing the majority of the work but the other vendors were so awesome that the wedding went off without a hitch.
What are your favorite things to do as a couple?
Sereta: We both like watching TV. He has his favorite shows which are vastly different from my favorite shows. Usually, between 7 pm and 9 pm, we watch TV independently. But, from 9 pm-11 pm, we watch the shows we both like or find a movie we can agree on to watch. We have come to really enjoy this time together; having drinks while eating popcorn and being swept away by our favorite viewing programs.
Who Cooks?
Sereta: My husband does the majority of the cooking. I don’t have the patience for it. Neither one of us is particularly great at cooking either but somehow this became his primary responsibility. We have the most success, however, when we cook together.
Do you have children or pets?
Sereta: My husband has two adult children, Ylana, 32, and Malik, 27. We currently don’t have any pets but I’m trying to convince him to get two small dogs as fur babies.
When it comes to Careers, what do you both do and how do you make time for each other?
Hulian: I am a Senior Financial Analyst at Indiana University Health Foundation and Sereta is a Program Director at YMCA Before and After School Care. We have a home office since we both work from home which allows us to spend quite a bit of time together during the work day. More quality time is spent during the evenings and on the weekends.
What would you say are the most important elements of a successful marriage?
Hulian: Praying together daily and keeping God first in our lives. Constantly keeping the lines of communication open and understanding each other’s love language. Respecting each other’s personal space and spending as much time apart as we do together.
How do you keep the spark in your marriage?
Sereta: Our marriage is still very new so this isn’t hard. We continue to have fun and laugh. We often laugh together but most of the time I’m laughing at him. We enjoy each other’s company and habitually oversharing. He frequently buys me flowers and I love to shop for him.
What do you love most about one another?
Sereta: I love that my husband listens to me and always supports me. No matter what crazy idea I come up with he supports and helps me make it happen. I can trust him with my innermost thoughts and feelings. I trust him with my life and know that he would lay his life down for mine. He makes me laugh and feel safe. Most importantly he loves God and puts Him first. With my husband by my side, there is nothing I can’t accomplish or overcome. He’s my everything.
Hulian: I love that she challenges me in many ways to make me a better man. My wife wants what is best for my career and always encourages me to refine my skills and to continuously explore career opportunities. I love that friendships are important to her so she’s constantly encouraging me to connect and spend time with my friends. My wife also looks so amazing in whatever outfit she has on, and I love that she is constantly elevating my wardrobe. Overall, Sereta is the best thing to ever happen to me and illuminates my soul in so many facets of my life on a daily basis.
What advice can you give newlyweds?
We still consider ourselves newlyweds, however, to those who are newer than we are we’d like to tell them to never stop laughing and having fun together. Continue to enjoy each other and continue to cultivate the friendship.
