How did you meet?
Business conference in Houston.
Tell us your proposal story.
Because I love yellow and photoshoots, I had told Kofi that I would like to do a fall photo shoot. He told me I could choose outfits and he would choose the location. We drove from Houston to Austin which is my favorite city in Texas and the night before he had strawberries and champagne, but I didn’t think anything of it because he’s a hopeless romantic like that. Before I went to sleep he started reading a journal that he had kept the first couple of months that he met me, reading to me how I made him feel, it was so nostalgic.
In the morning, we got ready and met the photographer, we went to the first location, the photographer told me that he would record some behind-the-scenes if I didn’t mind. Obviously, I didn’t mind as a content creator. I was ready for the photoshoot to begin when Kofi started professing his love to me and getting down on one knee. It was really funny because he did so much research about which knee he should kneel on in which way he should hold the box, and yet he still picked up my right hand LOL.
When did you know he/she was “the one”?
I know he was the one on our first date when we went to the movie theater and the waitress spilled a whole glass of wine on him. I cringed because I just knew he was going to flip out, and my man got up with the waitress and went to get napkins. He wiped his self off and told the lady it’s OK. He did not yell; he was not even upset. I thought to myself that is my man.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
Prior to Covid we loved to go to the movies every Tuesday for five-dollar Tuesday at Studio Movie Grill, we love to travel, we’ve been to so many places we went on two cruises within two months. We also love rollerblading.
How has wedding planning been so far?
Transparent moment, I had called off the wedding a couple of years prior, I was going to marry a man I didn’t love. That was a horrible experience. Fast forward to this experience. It has been so easy in the sense that my fiancé and I talk about all the plans, and then we execute. It’s been a bit hard only because of COVID, we aren’t sure really how to plan around COVID, so that’s why we decided to postpone our big wedding until 2022. We will make it a one year anniversary and we will opt to do a backyard wedding with about 15 people so that we can keep our date 4/3/21!
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day.
We are looking forward to moving into our new home. Kofi owns a rental property that’s pretty old that we’ve been fixing up, it’s been a very interesting experience but I can’t wait to finally be done with that and move in. We’re also very excited to continue our love story.
