Charming Engagement Session At The Untermyer Gardens Conservancy: Nadine + Sheldon -Munaluchi Bride

Nadine and Sheldon began as friends, first connecting through their involvement in various church ministries. As the two worked closely within their ministries, they gained the opportunity to talk and as time progressed, they became fond of one another. “Our relationship was built on the foundation of genuine, authentic friendship and organically evolved into a beautiful love” shares Nadine.

And just like any organic friendship that evolves into love, it’s only fitting that marriage be soon to follow. The proposal, which was staged as a photo-shoot, took place on the first day of autumn. “Sheldon told me that he wanted us to have professional pictures taken since we hadn’t done so before. He picked me up after work and we headed to a beach club to have our pictures taken” says Nadine. After the pair wrapped up their shoot, they headed to the shore and what came next was the surprise of a lifetime for Nadine. “I saw tiki lamps lit, a chuppah (bridal canopy) and a bucket with a bottle of champagne. Before you knew it, family and friends came out from the enclosed cabanas to witness what was about to take place”. And on the first day of autumn, Nadine and Sheldon’s “seasons” changed.

The pair headed to the luxuriant Untermyer Gardens Conservancy, in Yonkers, NY to shoot their engagement session with coterie member, Quintessence Photography. While the beautiful and talented bride-to-be, Nadine acted her own canvas, serving as both the makeup artist and stylist for the shoot!

Describe your engagement session! Did you have a theme?
We didn’t have a particular theme in mind, however, we both reside in Westchester and knew that we wanted to have our pictures taken locally. We opted for both a casual and formal look to compliment the beautiful garden.

What did you do on your first date?
We’re both pretty simple people and we love food! Our first date called for a early morning trip to IHOP!

What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
Our favorite thing to do is eat. We not only love watching food shows, we also love discovering hidden gems for the best cuisines and even experimenting in the kitchen on our own.

How has wedding planning been so far?
The wedding planning has been going great so far. We continue to focus on what matters most which is that we get to spend forever together and it helps keep things in perspective.

What are you looking forward to most on wedding day?
We are looking forward to meeting one another at the altar, seeing the smiling faces of our family and friends and celebrating our love with those we love throughout the night.
