What started as a friendship soon became much more for Charre and Alfred. The pair started dating in high school and have been inseparable ever since. They completed high school and college together and are now ready to start the next phase of their lives as husband and wife.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. Alfred and Charre are high school sweethearts. The two met at Hodgson Vo-tech High school where they became best friends. Their friendship turned into a relationship on October 5th, 2008 when Alfred asked Charre to be his girlfriend. The couple both attended Delaware State University together and graduated with bachelor’s degrees. On October 5th, 2016 the two became engaged. The rest is history!

The proposal: He proposed on our 8th year anniversary. Alfred took me to Longwood Gardens and it was absolutely beautiful. After dinner we continued walking through the gardens. As we stopped to look at the light show that was going on, I spotted my aunt standing close by. I then began to look around only to see my whole family surrounding us. I immediately began to cry when I realized what was happening. The love of my life was proposing to me! That day was magical.

What did you do on your first date? Our first date was at his house. He cooked my favorite meal and decorated a small table for us.

What are some of you favorite couple activities? Our favorite thing to do is workout together and watch Game of Thrones!

What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day? What we’re looking forward to the most on our wedding day is the wedding ceremony. We’re also looking forward to seeing all of our family and friends.
