It’s May, so wedding season is in full swing….and so is “bridal shower season.” Have you had yours yet? If you are planning your own, or planning one for your bestie, here’s some bridal shower inspiration for you. Carminthia Stevenson’s cousin and Maid of Honor hired fabulous planner, B. Moore Events to plan the bridal shower with an Asian theme in mind. She did an outstanding job, incorporating various elements from Japan, as well as Carminthia’s favorite colors. The images were captured by Scobey Photography, a dynamic husband/wife team that’s dangerously in love with each other, with photography, and with weddings. You’ve got to check out their site, it’s really cool. In the meantime, take a look at Carminthia’s amazingly chic bridal shower.
Carminthia loves sushi, so her planner took that into consideration and went for an asian theme. The colors were black (for sophistication) and pink (for happiness, gracefulness, and gentleness). There was even a harpist, to create a serene atmosphere and add to the elegance of the event.
And here is Carminthia, looking absolutely fab. Her wedding will take place on May 29th and is themed “Elegant Romance.” When asked what she looks forward to most on her wedding day, Carminthia responded, “…seeing Demetrius –my fiancé’s face as I walk down the aisle; just looking him in the eyes knowing that God has paved our paths for this very moment. Also, I can’t wait for him to see my dress.”
Carminthia’s advice for brides-to-be:
“My first advice is to get quality marriage counseling so that you understand exactly what you are vowing to do until death. Love is the soft and fuzzy part of marriage but all couples need truly understand God’s expectations, your spouse’s expectations, as well as your expectations in your union. Secondly, remember it is not about the wedding ceremony it is about the marriage, so be careful not to lose focus. My uncle warned me of this. I would suggest you holding your fiancé’s hand, looking him in the eyes and assuring him that you guys will not get lost in the planning of the wedding. Remind him you are in love with him and not the idea of the wedding. The wedding is just your way of celebrating your love with others and not the other way around.”
Congrats Carminthia! We wish you the best of luck on your upcoming wedding. Thanks to Shaundra of B. Moore Events for this amazing submission. She’s does amazing work…Make sure to head over to her site for more inspiration.
