Describe your business. Little Black Book Event is a wedding planning company based in Washington, D.C. and working throughout the surrounding areas. We curate positively unforgettable events that provide unique and memorable experiences for our couples. We offer a full concierge experience, making sure that each couple’s dream is turned into a reality through customization and unique details.
What did you do before starting your business in the wedding industry? Worked in the tech world doing mostly business development.
How long have you been in the wedding industry? 6 years.
How would you describe your style? My personal style is modern, clean and minimalist.
What motivates you? We feel so honored to take part in what’s such a special day for our couples. We know there are no do-overs and that’s what motivates us to do our best every time.
Why should brides/grooms choose you? We take what we do very seriously because we want our couples to have the best memories. Couples invest time and money into one day and we are like an insurance plan to protect their investment and execute their plan. Our core business values are communication, collaboration, consistency and community. It’s not just about planning events. It’s about creating unforgettable shared experiences and sticking to these pillars to ensure that we get it right.
How does your company define and measure success? We define and measure success by our couple’s satisfaction. This means that our couples trust us and are comfortable communicating with us throughout the planning process. On the day they feel that we exceeded expectations in executing and managing the day. We work hard to ensure that our couples, their families, and guests are happy and enjoying themselves.
What do you enjoy most about your work? I really enjoy taking a couple’s vision from start to finish. I find that many of the couples I work with have ideas about what they want but not a total vision. Being able to pull that out and make it a reality is the best.
Describe a proud moment while working in the wedding industry. My proudest moment was when a client paid me double my fee because they felt that I had undercharged them and that I had gone above and beyond their expectations.
What’s the best compliment you’ve received for your work? I had a Maid of Honor approach me at a wedding reception to say that she had known her friend, the bride, her entire life and she had never seen her let go like this before and she knew it was because she trusted me to get things done.
What are your business goals? Our business goals are to expand our team, continue to build relationships with great vendors and venues and to expand our rental inventory branch of business.
What’s your favorite part of the wedding industry? My favorite part of the wedding industry is the vendor camaraderie. I’ve made some great vendors friends. And I think of weddings as a team sport with everyone working together to make the day beautiful. When you have great, talented vendors, it makes it that much easier.
What’s your least favorite part of the wedding industry? The long hours! It can be brutal…it’s a full body sport!
Describe your vision of the “perfect” wedding. My vision of the “perfect” wedding is one where the couple feels that every aspect of the day reflects them and their love. They are able to be present for every important moment of the day and feel all the wonderful and exciting feelings.
Where do you find the most inspiration? I find a lot of inspiration on IG. I’m looking not only for wedding-focused material but looking at interior design, cultural events, nature. That’s where you find out-of-the-box ideas.
Is there anything else you’d like our readers to know? We take it personally, it’s not just business with us. We feel a personal responsibility to make sure that our client’s day is everything they dreamed it would be.

I’m happiest when I have more reading time. As my reading load increases, maintaining a healthy reading-to-assignment ratio becomes increasingly challenging. Many students seek assistance with their homework from services such as https://www.trustmypaper.com/ . This company has attracted my curiosity due to their sufficient compensation of its writers.
