Business Name: WED LIFE MEDIA
Founded: 2018
Describe your business. We are a group of wedding photographers and videographers joined together to combine one team, making up WED LIFE MEDIA.
What did you do before starting your business in the wedding industry? We have been in the wedding industry for years, doing photo and video. A recent trip to Africa last year solidified our decision to start focusing more on cultural and destination weddings.
How long have you been in the wedding industry? 8 wonderful years.
How would you describe your style? We just shoot what it feels like. If the bride requests a lighter or darker edit, we can accommodate. We typically shoot more on the lighter side for WED LIFE. We really love those blue waters and skies!
What motivates you? I don’t want to ever stop learning how to be amazing. Traveling to different places is definitely a motivator. We’ve always wanted to see the world while shooting love… and now, we do!
Why should brides/grooms choose you? I think that personality and chemistry is important. We’ve got that home grown, family like feel to us. Everyone says it, and I believe that! We also offer both photo and video, and that’s a no brainer for some people. If your work is good, but you’re not very nice, they will remember how unpleasant you were to work with while looking at those bomb photos!
How does your company define and measure success? We strive to make all of our brides happy. If we are knocking it out of the park every time, I believe that’s important. Also, choosing the right people FOR this job wasn’t easy. We’ve got some great names in the industry as well as some fantastic people who are willing to learn everything we can teach them. That’s success to me.
What do you enjoy most about your work? For us, it’s the experience. Getting home, and editing the magic.
Describe a proud moment while working in the wedding industry. I think it would be when we bought our wedding venue. We no longer have it…but that was something I was proud of at the time.
What’s the best compliment you’ve received for your work? Gosh, You know, as weird as this sounds, it was where I put a bride’s dad in the clouds when she was standing on the beach in his jacket looking up at the sky. She said that was the best gift I could’ve given her. Since my father has passed, that one meant the most to me.
What are your business goals? We want WED LIFE MEDIA to eventually be a Destination Brand. We are in the beginning stages of something great! I can feel it.
What’s your favorite part of the wedding industry? Adding our brides on social media and watching them plan their wedding that I’m apart of. It really helps them get to know us too. I enjoy that.
What’s your least favorite part of the wedding industry? I’d have to say losing contact when it’s all over. I’d say 75% of our brides stay in touch. We shoot the babies, the anniversaries, all of that. But then the other 25% we never hear from again.
Describe your vision of the “perfect” wedding. Definitely one where a Wedding Planner is at the forefront. Weddings without a planner (a real Planner, not Aunt Shelly) really suffer.
Where do you find the most inspiration? I watch videos and look at other Destination Wedding Pros. I think we are all guilty of getting ideas and inspiration from people we look up to.
