Coterie Spotlight: Get to Know Andria Lewis Events

It’s that time again!  Time to put another one of our extremely talented preferred vendors in the spotlight.  This week, it’s all about Andria Lewis Events.  Based out of the South East, Andria Lewis Events is an event planning and design company that is experienced, professional, and really good at what they do.  We’re excited to share more about this fabulous planner and we hope you learn more about what makes her company standout.

Tell us a little about your background and how you got started in the wedding and events industry?

17 years ago, a family member asked me to help plan her wedding. That’s when the seed was planted. I didn’t know what a wedding planner was at that time. What I knew was that I LOVED whatever it was I had just done to help my cousin. I researched for years and begin writing a business plan and slowly but surely built a company.
What did you do before Wedding Planning/Designing?

I have always been in sales (from retail to corporate training).

What are your dreams for your company?

To become a well-known and solid planning and design firm in the Southeastern US.

What do you love most about your job?

I really enjoy the design phase of the job. It’s where I get to know the clients and who they are. Interpreting their needs and wants for their wedding and building it into an event gives me a high!

In your area what are some of your favorite venues and why?

I really enjoy working with The Peabody Hotel. I mainly enjoy them because of the level of service you receive. One of my other favorites is becoming The Columns. It is a relatively new event space (formerly a bank). It is cavernous and a wonderful blank slate to design.

What trends are you seeing with 2013, 2014 brides?
Anyone who knows me knows I dislike the word trend. I don’t use it. To me trends = just like the other weddings. I love creating personalized weddings that speak to the client. I don’t enjoy copying a Pinterest page and putting into a venue. I am not a copy and paste designer and planner. One thing I am excited about is the Pantone color of the year. That green just speaks to me!

What would you say to brides-to-be who are on the fence about hiring a wedding planner/designer?

I don’t know if there is something to be said and here is why. When couples hire a wedding planner/designer they know when they go that planner’s website the value a professional designer/planner brings to the table. For them, it’s a matter of which designer/planner do they feel can best interpret their needs and create a smooth planning process for them.
Why should brides choose you as a planner/designer?

This answer goes back to my loving the creative process of personalizing a wedding for my couples and families. They will not have a wedding that looks like their line sister’s or their cousin’s who just married months before. We love keeping design secrets at Andria Lewis Events. There are so many crazy, awesome things in store for my couples’ guests this year I can hardly stand the wait! That’s why you should hire us. If you want a great event with fantastic memories, a smooth planning process (we don’t use the dreaded S word (stress)) and a wedding that isn’t cookie cutter, give us a call. Not all couples are for us as clients as we are not the designers/planners for every client. Personality and expectation play a lot into the decision. But, if you want to have fun planning your wedding and have people talking about how awesome your wedding was for years to come, give us a call. We just may be a great fit for you! ;-)

Favorite song? book? tv show? West End Girls by The Petshop Boys/ I love rereading Tara Road every few years/Modern Family as a new show, Good Times for an oldy but goody

Guilty pleasure? Warm chocolate cake/brownie with a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream. My go-to dessert when I want to feel like a glutton.
