Lawrence and JaRheya’s formal yet modern country club wedding held at the West Mount Country Club featured heartwarming tributes to their family and their culture.
The couple’s oh-so-gorgeous wedding celebration saw over 200 guests arrive to witness the modern glam ceremony and reception designed by Tiffany Jones. We also absolutely adored the pre-ceremony get-ready-with-me portraits by Nana Annan Photography, which captured some of the best moments of the bride and groom before they walked down the aisle.
Magical touches of emerald green were sprinkled throughout the day with the bridal party adorned in beautiful evening gowns featuring asymmetric necklines and thigh-high slit details. JaRheya was also very intentional with her desire for a black bridal designer as she chose Pantora Bridal with the exciting task of creating the wedding gown of her dreams.
After the pair’s romantic and memorable ceremony, the wedding party arrived at a rousing reception that featured breathtaking willow tree centerpieces along with exceptional place settings that again showcased the emerald color story with votive candles and wine glass stems.

Our proposal story…
Lawrence proposed during the weekend of JaRheya’s cousin Sunshine’s 50th Birthday Celebration on April 3rd, 2021. She passed in 2019 in a car accident in Atlanta, so this celebration was in memory of her.
It was a very special weekend filled with family and close friends to celebrate her birthday. I had no idea it was happening and it was the best surprise ever. He knew how much she meant to me and to have it done on her weekend was amazing. It felt like she was there witnessing something that she talked about all the time before she passed.
Getting dressed…
I got my dress from Pantora in New York City, It was important for me to have a Black designer for my wedding dress. The experience was amazing, her stuff is amazing and truly made me feel like a princess when looking for the perfect dress.
I went dress shopping with my mom, sister, and best friend. They were my cheerleaders through the entire shopping experience. I fell in love with my dress the moment I put it on and I didn’t want to take it off.
I added extra fluff to my bottom and went strapless. The veil was the added touch that I needed, it added a perfect length and it had the same lace from my dress on the trim.
For my Husband’s suit, we rented it because he wasn’t too big on the idea of having a suit made for one day. He wanted me to have what I wanted but he still looked amazing in the suit he chose from The Black Tux.
Our culture, our way…
We jumped the broom to join our families as one. I also wanted it because of my cousin (Sunshine) who passed in 2019. She was big on the idea of jumping the broom and I wanted something that she loved showcased in my wedding in remembrance of her. I needed to feel her presence that day and jumping the broom helped with feeling as though she was present.
Our first look…

Beauty is her name…
What we loved the most…
My best memory was our entrance into the reception. We picked a song that would set the tone for the night and help us get the party started as soon as we walked in.

Here’s the thing…
My advice for engaged couples is to communicate even when it feels like you have nothing left. Communication is key and making sure you both are listening and honoring what each other is saying.
