When Kymberly, a pharmacy assistant and Spencer, an electrician went snowboarding with mutual friends, they had no idea that day would be the day they’d meet the loves of their lives. The snow has melted and the heat has risen as Kymberly and Spencer have saved the date for an August 2016 wedding at the gorgeous Eagles Nest Golf Club. The happy couple took to Sibbald Point, Ontario for a cozy park and lakeside engagement session ahead of the big day.
Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal!
We met through mutual friends while snowboarding, which led to a party invite and numbers being exchanged…
Spencer planned a large group to go to a matinee Cirque Du Soleil show. Afterwards the group, including his family, my family and our friends, walked to a restaurant at the edge of Lake Ontario. Spencer’s family as well as my brother and best friend were in on what he had planned. My friend asked for a picture of us on the boardwalk and it was there that Spencer proposed.
The engagement session…
Our engagement session was a perfect mix of beautiful fall weather interlaced with romance and fun.
What did you do on your first date?
Spencer picked me up on my lunch break and brought my my favourite pizza before we went to the local Starbucks.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
We are both so busy, it’s easy to get carried away in the cares of lives, so we both try to take the time to enjoy the simple things… relaxing and enjoying each other’s company.
How has wedding planning been so far?
So far, planning has been pretty good. We are well on our way to having everything booked; just one last vendor needs confirmation and then we need to handle invitations and the little things that come along the way.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day.
I’m most looking forward to being able to enjoy the day with our closest family and friends celebrating our marriage and having them share in us turning the next chapter of our lives together.
