Davida and William’s bohemian glam destination wedding at Excellence Oyster Bay in Jamaica was filled with heartfelt moments, sweet details, and beautiful Caribbean backdrops.
When Wil first saw Davida on a mutual friend’s Instagram post, it was love at first sight. He quickly sent her a DM and their love story officially began!
Following a beautiful courtship, they knew they had found their person and were ready to take the next step together. Wil planned an intimate surprise proposal during their vacation in Mexico.
Wil told me to come out on the balcony to watch the sunset together. He then told me to check my Instagram DMs, where he messaged “Will you marry me.”
– Davida (The Bride)
Davida turned around and found her now-husband down on one knee! The proposal was perfect for the pair, whose relationship started in the DMs.
Fast forward to their enchanting nuptials, the couple exchanged vows on the beach at Excellence Oyster Bay, Jamaica. They incorporated a sand pour ceremony, playfully said “Yah Mon” instead of yes during their vows, and served rum punch as one of their signature cocktails.
Their bohemian theme was seen throughout their decor, including their reception’s florals with pampas grass centerpieces and gold decor details in their place settings. Terracotta napkins set against soft Ivory satin table linens and white O back chairs further set the rustic-meets-bohemian theme.
The couple danced the night away, ending the night with a celebratory sparkler send-off by their loved ones.

How we met:
We met on Instagram through a mutual friend. He slid in my DMS after my friend posted a picture of me on her page. He said it was love at first sight.
The groom…
The proposal:
We were on vacation in Mexico and Wil told me to come out on the balcony to watch the sunset together. He then told me to check my Instagram DMs, where he messaged “Will you marry me” and when I turned around he was on his knee. It was a sweet intimate moment that was full circle because we met on Instagram.
A first look with Dad…
Favorite memory:
The best memory was our first touch because that’s when things started to get real. We were also surrounded by our close family.
The ceremony…
Cultural elements:
For culture incorporation, we said “Yeah Mon” instead of I do, had rum punch served as one of our signature cocktails, and did a sand pour which our Jamaican officiant advised.
Wedding style, attire, and shopping experience:
I wore a custom-designed dress by a Black designer. It was a mermaid-style dress with a train and elegant embellishments. Wil wore a tan suit to fit the beachy theme. The shopping experience was fairly easy for both of us. However somehow something happened to my veil and I didn’t realize it until I was already in Jamaica for the wedding week, so I ordered one from Amazon and had one of my bridesmaids bring one. Looking back at it, I didn’t even need it.
